Bear Randal Revenge is there better ....ugh?

First post here guys... Just looking for some help.

I have a very tall sector 9 Bomb Hills board that I like, but the Revenge trucks I have on it and 76mm wheels make it too talll for fooling around.

I've bought a replacement for it for carving tricks etc... Insect Mosquito 38" symetrical board with orangatang for president 70mm wheels.

I need trucks for this board that will compliment the board and keep it low like the loaded dervishes are.

Please let me know what the best carving trucks to use and whether 180mm - 200mm width is best?

money isn't an issue.

I say paris>randal because paris has a much better bushing seat. When you put real soft bushings in randals, they tend to squeeze out and cause some problems. paris trucks will give you better rebound in and out of your carves as well as allow you to run softer bushings.

For bushings, the paris bushings aren't too great so I would say get some venoms. My friend is around your weight and rides his 85a venoms for carving and even some downhill. I would say that's your best bet.

180mm Randal w/ 50 degree baseplates, because they're made in the USA, and if you choose to get Venoms, get a 93a standard pack. I weight 175 and ride a 90a standard pack, and I like my trucks loose/reboundy.

Randal or Paris 180. I would personally go for Black Randals. They would look sweet on that deck. As far as bushings, I hear the new stock Randals (red) are pretty good, you can always get stiffer ones (that sounds funny) for a pretty reasonable price. The new Paris trucks come stock with venom bushings, just make sure when ordering that you are getting the new ones. Here is a pretty good list:

I forgot to mention, I started with Revenge trucks as well, and then went to Randals. It's a big difference, and took some getting used to. Now I love my Randals and Chargers (both set up with Venoms: Randals-93a barrel bottom/90a cone top Chargers-93a SuperCarve) I hope this helps. I am @ 200lbs as well.

I feel paris have better finish and quality, the bushing seats are deeper and really allows for deeper carving. Paris come stock with venoms and I have 78a/81a and feels great with my 197 lbs.

I would say they're more "different", instead of better. The Paris bushing seats don't really allow for oversize bushings very well, but with Randals, you have a good amount of space.
I've found Paris to be harder carvers, and Randals to be smoother carvers.

I'd go with Bears because I like them more. Put in JimZ's and you can mix them with whatever other bushing makes you happiest (I like Bennets and 85a Venom barrels mixed in with my Bears).

makes for the lowest ans widest trucks ive had. and they carve very nicely!

people underestimate the M1s ^_^ there not the best, but the tracker baseplate they run very very very low and nice!

Id go with randals or bears, paris have great bushing seats, but they are made in china...but w.e thats all preference. Regards to the bushings, if your going with venoms, going 93a or higher, Im 140lbs and I ride 90a, and i find it incredibly turny for me. From my experience bears are a really great carving truck, and you can always flip the hanger for a lower angle, and for randals, people say they have a more "restricting" bushing seat, but I dont really think that, its just different than paris. and anyways, the more "restrictive" bushing seat will allow for more rebound with your bushings.

I'm 145 and I hate 90/93a venoms, they feel wayy too stiff, but the 85a's are great for me.

For bushings I use randal 180's and venoms 93 cones on bottom and 85's on top. total carving awsomness. for your wight dont put anything lower then 93 venoms on bottom or they will get torn up, Im 190ish and 85's were like butter underneath me...

I run 81a venom barrels on bottom, i'm 197, they haven't torn up one bit.

Thanks to everyone for your input. Now I have a great base to start looking at what I'm going to be happy with. I've read a couple threads on the board that pointed out the shortcomings of the Revenge trucks, although if I wanted to stay slow, they 'might' be okay.

I'm going to head down to a shop and look at the trucks in person to see what model - Randal, Paris, or Bear - will take the prize.

I'm also very appreciative that you guys/girls let me know what you were running and your weight with regards to the bushings. I think that will truly be the key to having the perfect ride.

Now all I have to do is learn how to be cool like Y'all.
