Re: Help a newbie with his truck problem?
I wonder why they would mix them up, they should have given two china made or two american made.

Okay, my new Dervish arrived with Gullwings fitted but...
Neither of the trucks fitted appear to be the same. They physically look to be made to different standards but still the same shape (black dust coating is different etc). One is stamped USA Gullwing and the other is not.
Also I stepped onto the board once and on one of the trucks the nuts on either side grind deeply into it when you lean to turn. You can hear it clearly just balancing on the board. Is this dangerous? Is this normal on a brand new board? I couldn't see anything that would cause the nuts to be so close to the truck itself. I'm a bit peeved cause I haven't even been out on it yet and I have issues I've sent Loadedboards a similar Email.
I've attached a shot of the damage to better communicate the problem.
Q: The hardware is grinding into my truck
A: This is somwhat common, no, it isnt damaging your truck but it can be limiting the lean.
Solution: Flip the hardware, so that the nut is on the top of the deck instead of under it.

I thought it would be too, but I've have a board that I had to flip the hardware in the back, and have had it like that for 3 or 4 months, and have taken quite a few spills on it, I never even came close to cutting or scraping myself on the hardware.

... why? With Truss headed screws it souldn't really matter which way they're on. Though you might have to pop the hanger off to tighten you harware.
Unless you have a rediculous ammount of extra screw hanging out. That problem can be fixed by a healthy hand shake from a hacksaw then a file.

maybe i mis-heard, but the way i understood it is that the first run of chargers was something had something like 80% of the trucks made in the US, and the rest overseas...in later production runs, they scaled back the US production, so now it's something like 20% of the trucks in America, and 80% overseas.
maybe the OP just got lucky and got one of the new US-made ones
more probable answer:
the place that he bought it from had some old stock chargers in their gear box, and they just got lucky when they picked up trucks for his board
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

Thanks for shedding some light on the problem it's calmed me down some
I've taken a closer look, and the trucks are definitely different from one another with out a doubt. And I've noticed that it is limiting the turn. I'd really prefer not to have the nut on the top side of the board so I'll try moving two of the nuts and bolts up to the outer holes shown on the pic I posted. Are those what you were referring to as old school holes? Would I have to do the same to the trucks opposite or would it not make much difference?
Oh and do you think I'd get anywhere by demanding the same trucks from loaded boards? I mean technically they are what I ordered...but I feel cheated somehow.
the bolts arent really that big of a deal. your hardware is the perfect fit so at least nothings sticking out too much. you dont have to flip the back ones just in case you were wondering
