how is it that trucks made from such strong materials were able to bend from slding in the rain? that just seem quite illogical to me.

That's just it... They clearly are not made from such strong materials. Honestly, the axle looks like a super weak point on them with that weld. They'd be better off having the axle completely covered and more reinforced, the metal around the axle could be a lot thicker.

OK I have a rather bent set of 184 Fyres. Gentle carving and 2 DH runs and the front30* is bent real bad, the rear 20* is bent but not so bad. Mounted with BigZigs on an EVO.

I can't even imagine how Mr. Retro decided it was a good idea to release these right now. I read through most of the thread on Coast when he said he'd start selling them, but a little peer pressure shouldn't be enough to convince a man to release a product obviously not ready for market.

What's wrong with you guys? Has Chris not already proven he cares and backs his products? Give him a chance to make good on these.

I remember when Dan Gesmer released the first series of the chinese Seismics. Major, major snafus. I tried in vain to have them fixed or replaced, but Dan basically said F U. I ended up selling them for half what I paid for them, explaining fully to the buyer why I was selling so cheap, and publically denouncing Dan's product. Shortly after that (about 6 months) Dan did a recall and fixed the trucks I sold off. Never again would I buy another product from him.

Chris on the other hand, has been a pleasure to do business with over the years. I had a set of Flashbacks that chunked on me in short time, and he replaced them no questions asked. And just like those, I'm sure, given time, he'll make good.

but what is chris doing about it fiend?

shouldn't he have a chance to explain himself to us before we just sue him like that, i mean, he hasn't really done this before, and there was all that pressure to get these out

wow, all this smack talk about fyres is kinda insane. i know that chris released a product that has flaws but seriously the level of bitching on here has got to stop.

first it was "chris needs to hurry and release these"

    now its "my axles bent"

there is a serious lack of patience that is becoming sickening. and now fiend with the legal angle? for real?

chris made a mistake and is going to pay for it probably out of pocket. he tried to save US money by cutting corners and obviously the wrong corners were cut.

even if with good intentions if you release a product run of 50 and that many fail, you open yourself up to a legal inquiry, she says you have no idea how much power you have over small business owners who must pay all legal fees up front, class action lawyers collect in the end and basically just wanna extend the thing as long as possible, run the other guys money out so he settles.

anyways, yeah, im serious, but its cause i wanted a set and now i can see they are beat to hell, can you make me one with a jimz axle hanger set up, great idea but sloppy build, who cares, make em cost 400 each, you still would have had a market chris, now you just leave a bad taste in a lot of the best consumers mouths who actually paid.

but i can accept that today, get it?
