I refuse to buy bears anymore, I have gone through so many in so little time its embarrassing that they still sell them. Tons with bent axles from tiny impacts with curbs, wrecked bushing seats, gnarled pivot cups... the only bears worth buying besides smokies are the 1040's, super amounts of lean and decently strong. but I will even stay away from those, the bushing seat is so restrictive.

i just thought they would be a lot more durable considering how much money you drop for them. please tell me smokies could take a 30mph hit!!! otherwise i'm sticking with my 180 randalls.

I would agree with you when taking about the old bears, but the newer all black bears are really really nice. I would say on par with randals. I also understand that even people who hate bears really like the 1040's.

I saw another kingpin break in my friends bears. Strange part was that they were grade 8 kingpins that replaced the stock ones that both broke in my friends bears.

We were dhing a new spot, stopped at the bottom and his hangar just fell off. lulz.

Good thing it didnt break around the hairpin, but after...
