Default Reflex Formula Harsh on Sidewalks

Has anyone noticed that Reflex Formula wheels have a harsh ride on sidewalks?

I was riding the board I set up for my gf (with 70mm Pink ZigZags 77a) through the city yesterday and felt every sidewalk crack coming through hard. I have similar size 68mm 3dm Avalons (77a) and 70mm Tunnel Tarantula's (75a) on two of my other boards and those wheels do a much better job of soaking up the rough streets and sidewalks in DC. The boards are actually the same as hers, so the only variable are the wheels.

Are the Pink line of wheels poured with a slower rebound urethane? One better for crusing back and forth between the street and sidewalks?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Yes, the Pink line is made with the "regular" Abec11 urethane, which indeed feels softer and smoother just cruising, at least in 78a or lower.

The reflex wheels suck at going over cracks head-on but if you approach the cracks at an angle it's not that bad.

Avilas are not exactly the quickest wheel for changing direction given the massive amount of 'thane and the soft ones can feel downright greasy on smooth pavement on a hot day but for going over big cracks or riding over the sort of rough worn asphalt that is covered with big sharp chunks of aggregate nothing else comes close. 72a Avilas can let you ride certain roads that are flat out impassable on other wheels.

speed wise Retro thane has always been faster for me but I hate the feel of it since I'm never gonna be racing seriously Seismic thane is my preferred for almost everything. My speedboard has 81a Avilas and my freeride board has trimmed Hotspots

Is there a wheel that absorbs a lot of cracks/bumps/vibration , yet still handles speed and lasts a while?
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I like my gumballs for that, deep thane, wide and tall for getting over rough stuff. Good for speed and durable too, I have 78a you could go a little higher too.

Also consider trying out a shock riser, that helps out a lot with vibration as well.

i actually really like my inheats 80a for this, very smooth, not as smooth as the gumballs perhaps, but i still like them more overall.
