Rainskate Factory seconds
Has anyone bought factory seconds from Rainskates wheels? I tried searching, but I only saw it mentioned briefly in one thread. How much do they cost? What are the typical issues? Would they still be good for certain purposes? are they always available?
I have been dying to try some of their wheels, but they are a bit pricey for park/sliding wheels.

Re: Rainskate Factory seconds
Orange mini tsunamis. If they made a 54mm or 56mm with the orange 85a thane, I would grab a set or two.

Re: Rainskate Factory seconds
I got some seconds awhile back. I got orange MiniTs with funky mold marks and two sets of Stingers that had an experimental shape and the new (at the time) white slidy polyurethane formula. They have all been awesome and at a great price break, but they don't always have stuff available. And yes you do have to e-mail him. He always got back to me after one or two days. Cool guy to deal with and awesome wheels.

Tsunamis are sweet wheels. They are very smooth, but they aren't mushy like some other softer small wheels I've ridden. I think I paid like $18 shipped b/c there was some concern that they might flatspot. How much of a price break you get probably depends on why they are not being sold retail. I don't remember what I paid for the stingers, but it was less than I would have paid for similar wheels retail and they didn't really have any defect they were just protos or something.

you do realize that when you are buying Rainskates you are buying Creative Urethane's highest quality thane. The price is on par with the other wheel companies that employ this thane from CU (rainskates, some earthwings, autobahn, lush, sk8kings, manx/pps, poolking, tunnel, conspiracy, Speedlab, PPS, Skaterbuilt, NHS, Cowboy Punk, Better, Deathbox, Pig, Foundation, Toy Machine, Chetah, Black Label, Madrid). If a wheel is cheaper than it uses a lesser thane but I know from experience that Rainskates and Speedlab wheels last...they use Ultrathane to insure long life

Quoted for truth Rainskates wheels are worth the retail price. If they don't have seconds available right now, I suggest you buy some of their wheels anyway.

Thanks For the info!!!
It's not that i thought they were overpriced, i should have said that differently. What i should have said was That I didn't need hew wheels and if i was gonna buy extras, it would be a little bit much at the moment. it seems like a good choice. I'll definitely pick some up soon, F2's or not. I was mainly trying to score a deal on some awesome wheels.
Does anyone here have experience with the 65mm avalanches? do they feel any smoother than 60mm 99a wheels because of the size? Also, what would be the best candidate for slide wheels?
