Grippiest Wheels that you know of....
I haven't rode that many different wheels, but so far, the NeverSummer 72mm 78a are the freaking grippiest wheels i have ever rode, damn near impossible to break loose on pavement. Anyone know any other Super grippy wheels?

This is Silverfish, take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to come back to at the end of the day, but nothing beats the real deal. Make your own judgments and form your own opinions. Remember whose lens you're looking through!

Avilas FO SHO! You can get them in 73a and they have a 65mm contact patch. You aren't going ANYWHERE...except maybe highside.

Re: Grippiest Wheels that you know of....
Abec 11 Grippens (75a) are pretty ridiculously grippy (as their name implies). I don't even bother trying to stand-up slide them unless they're worn down and the edges strongly beveled off. Even then it's pretty unpredictable and jumpy on long slides.

Yeah, 83a wheels with slightly rounded lips are usually a bitch to slide.

That's not the wheel, it's you.
And SoFlo, that is just a false statement. I can slide my purptangs with ease, and they're fully broken in yet.
And to contribute to the thread, 77a Bigzigs.

The faster you go, the easier a wheel slides i find...
I have some 72a avila. Very grippy but they still slide. I was carving this one freakin STEEP hill. Literally every carve was turning into a monster speedcheck and I was hauling ass. The pavement was kinda rough though too. I think I could have kept grip better with a shorter wheelbase though.

Avilas
but in the mid-70s range, i find the low-70s deform too much to stick as well as the mid-70s, especially for lighter riders
