Re: opinions on wheels?
No offense folks.. but so far you guys have done nothing but add to your post count in this thread.. yes talk about this is out there.. so search and find a thread on it.. just don't give him the link to the search button.
I have experience with the first two wheels. I dig the freerides myself. This is because to me it is a nice all round wheel, I do free riding.. I'm not going above 25 mph, I slide/carve/dance. They grip when i want them to and slide nice and smooth when i want that.
for freerides I'd personally suggest lemons.. but the limes are highly loved too.. either or.. limes a little smoother ride lemons little smoother slide
The bigzigs are great wheels too, but if you are into sliding/ want to slide I find the slide more chattery. I can slide them but it is much less predictable and harder to control. They have wicked grip, good life and are a nice ride. I suggest limes nice smooth ride.
I have no experience with the orangatangs, they are a very popular wheel, and suppose to be a great all round wheel, and I'd believe it. The question I have here is it worth the extra 15%? That I don't know because I have no experience yet. Loaded is a great company, intelligent marketing machine which means.. you pay a premium on their stuff.
I have been pondering the s9 race formula as they are suppose to be awesome bang for your buck.
so it is true, your wheel choice is Dependant on your skate style, if you're in tech sliding or DH what i just wrote might be quite irrelevant to you.
All 3 wheels you spoke of are in my opinion all great everyday... just wanting to skate do a bit of everything. There is alot of personal preference in wheels so it is hard to say which is better. some people hate the freerides because their urethane has some "rebound" property which sliders find unpredictable. Some people like it.. like myself.
You have to pick the one which you things best fits what you want to do now, and find opportunities (swap boards etc) to try out more in the future. It is only through riding them that you yourself can answer this question. All great products so don't over think it too much
