and thats after 2 days of riding. and to make the assumption just shows you.

im in the mist of making a video that i will post here.

but just a heads up. GET THESE WHEELS.

Tough to judge slide wheels, hard or soft, after only a few days of riding. The release behavior really changes dramatically over time. I can identify around three or four different stages of sliding characteristics (sometimes subtle, other times not) that I've seen Slide As exhibit throughout their lifetime. That doesn't even take into account the effects of riding on various road surfaces.

Share some more feedback after you've broken in the Sublimes and put them through the loops. It would definitely be interesting to hear about how they ride.

but i will get back to everyone on how the wear is and everything. so far nothing on both wheels. with some intense sliding.

Any reason why you like them more than Slide A's? (just curious)

well they are more of a "skateboard" wheel. it looks exactly like one, but

much much more narrow. i slide like atleast twice the distance of slide A.

they have grooves for that needed grip.

and in general, they just feel so much smoother and everything about them is amazinggg.

ah softer thane, narrower profile, that's one way so solve the sliding dilemma, Saying it looks more like a "skateboard wheel" is kind of a bizarre thing to say. I would assume you mean they look like the cookie cutter popsicle wheel which you won't find at my local park since most of the good guys are skating Rainskates (which look just like SlideA's) or Shitbird which look like Bullets. If they have gooves those are an aid to breaking in and have nothing to so with grip/traction

available tomorrow, Day-glo yellow slide a's... They are better because they are yellow. The natural ones will be ready also. They don't have micro-grooves though. We did micro grooves on batch number one 3 years ago, and they lasted a good 10 min.

you'll find a few things out soon enough

narrow wheels tend to flatspot easier
    grooves mean nothing
and what qualifies a wheel as a 'skateboard' wheel is just being round and hooked to a truck under a board

that said, i'm sure they make a really good slide wheel, probably MILES better than chappy's previous attempts have fun on em and the drifters are butta (and get better the more they're ridden)

PS: Senor Chin, could you save a set of those dayglo yellers for a redneck slider I'll be up in NYC next week and would love to roll(well sideways) around on a set

find out what things? ive been skating for a long time.

according to abec. sublimes are anti-flat spotting.. which is why i didnt mention that.

groves mean nothing? you sure it doesnt give you more grip
either way im almost slid thru them anyway. so thats nothing.

i put "" quotes for a reason. it was a stereotypical term. i know a skateboard wheel is anything. but a wheel like spitfire and enjoi, a small light narrow wheel.

they do slide amazing at high speed, but at low speeds.. they tend to not do so good.

drifters are butter, i just took them out for another hour, and they get better and better.

the things i wrote right after that statement

and i've been skating for quite a while myself, 20+ years in fact, with the past 5+ pretty heavily dedicated to sliding.

lots of companies claim "anti flatspot" and have for well over a decade... guess what, they still flatspot
and no, grooves don't give a valuable amount of grip, as they wear off quickly. And in fact a lot of the times they are actually less grippy until the grooves wear off (prime example of that are Sergio Sliders).

just pointing out some things to take into consideration.. there's a reason dedicated slide wheels are a bit wider that average

Ya know what, I've been putting off buying slide As for a while now, but now since my skatepark wheels are suffering a ton, I might as well cave. Especially if i can get them in a nice yellow color =]
