Abec 5 Greaseballs
I just wanted people to know these bearings don't suck. Once you "mod" them, clean 'em, and re-lube, they are pretty awesome. By modding them, I mean you pry off one shield. This way you can clean them easily and lube them easily. They actually roll pretty fast and long(not just as free spinning). So yeah. If you are thinking about throwing these away and getting some new bearings, think about saving a few bucks and mod them!

Re: Abec 5 Greaseballs
Id rather ride em for a week, then spend the $15 i saved that week on some decent bearings with zero effort.
Greaseballs as they are, love to seize.

do you mean pry off for good or pry off, clean, lube, and replace the cover?

Re: Abec 5 Greaseballs
pry off for good. the shields on abec 5 greaseballs don't go back on... cause they are bent and ruined when prying them off.

Re: Abec 5 Greaseballs
Yeah i don't think you would be able to get them back on...
Seems kinda counter-productive, you will have to clean 4 times as much

Re: Abec 5 Greaseballs
i did use a thinker oil, 10w40 with lucas stabilizer mixed in so it might just need to be worked in. the way i did mine i could have reused most of the covers, my dad had a tool that slipped right under them and popped them off

not really. If you put the shieldless side facing the inside of the wheelcore, you should be fine.
