    Default Cadillac Wheel Review

So i was cruising by my local shop today and i saw these below the counter and they looked kinda rad. 70mm 80a white cadillac wheels. They have a race core similar to kryptos and are sideset. I'm not sure if these are new but I am thinking they are. Then I checked out the price: $28. #$%& Yeah!! So i skate back to my house, grab some green and come back to buy these. The guy knocked them down to $25 flat since im a local and it was shreddage from there. These are F$%^*NG Sweet wheels!!

these are them after an hour or two of use

    **MORE PICS ON BOTTOM**

    First Impressions:
    - quality 'thane compared to previous cadillacs
    - super smooth
    - keep their speed! i was impressed. definately not as slow as kryptos
    - no "wheel wobbles" or other imperfections in the wheel and they were all cleanly poured with no bubbles or blemishes too.

    Critique:

    Pros:
    - holy shitballs! smoooooooooooooth slides!!! SMOOTH! I've used blue kryptos extensively (76mm and 70mm), 76mm 80a race formulas, and other popular freeride wheels and holy crap, these cadilac's are sooo smooth. They have got to put butter in the thane formula. Definately smoother than the notorious blue krypto. Effortless HUGE pendys even at low speeds and beautiful standys!!
    - Break in easily and its buttery slides from there
    - Contact patch stays the same over the wheels wear: its not awkward like kryptos where they are slidey at first, grip more as the patch gets wider, then all of a sudden gets crazy slidey. These are consistant and sweet!
    - They leave beautiful bright white thane tracks
    - Pretty "fast" thane
    - GREAT alternative to finding kryptos. In fact, after the past few hours of riding i PREFER these.
    - AFFORDABLE!!! Finally the starving skaters of silverfish have a decently priced quality freeride wheel. None of this $55 bullsh*t mainstream brands like abec 11 and orangatang are trying to charge (no offense). Half the price of most wheels, and I have had more fun on these things in the past hour and a half than the month of riding on kryptos i spent a fortune on getting from europe.

    Cons:
    - poor wear pattern. they wear very quickly and oval/cone like they were made to
    - probably will only last a week or two of thrashing before killed
    - flatspot easy*
    * can slide the flatspots out through long drawn out pendys and 180 slides.
    - 8mm bearing spacing
    - become slow after extensive use probably because of the ovaling
    - you will not want to go inside and eat/go to the bathroom because you will be too preocupied thrashing them

    Would I reccomend them?

For Freeride: Absolutely!! As soon as these things are done i'm next in line at the shop to get these. Quality stuff from the company that first used urethane in a wheel (but i think they are owned by madrid now?) Doesn't matter. Madrid kicks ass too!!!

For faster riding (above 35): no. unless you like sliding out on the slightest turn in the road... probably not too good of a racing wheel. If you do take them fast you should probably have your predrifts down.

    The Setup:

    s9 race, comp 2's, 42* plates.

probably not the best freeride board but it was the only longboard worthy of testing these puppies.

    The Fun:
25-30 ft pendy marks. I got really tired of walking up the whole hill so these are at pretty low speeds! Only 25-30mph and such huge pendys! the pics are decieving of the size and visibility of the marks...

YEAH!!! I'm open to any questions about them so ask away.

    I have a question.

How the #### do you lay down lines like that??

I've tried to on my kryptos, powerballs, retros etc....

    ridiculous.

Cool, I've never seen white ones.
I ordered a set of Cadillac 56mm 78a wheels for my mini a few days ago. Should be here tomorrow.

These look fun... Where can they be found online? I saw them on the madrid site, but only in the clear red color and they were $35 there. Not worth it at that price IMO, only $3 more for gravity drifters at that point.

They sound super sick but if they're only gonna last a week are they really worth the buy when more expensive wheels are going to last a lot longer?

these wheels will probably last longer than I said now that i think about it. I was out there for a good 2 hours of nonstop sliding, slashing, standups, etc. They wear fast but they have lots of life left still. The point of me testing a wheel is to just destroy them so I'm trying to do that with these.

Nice review! I think Cadillac should send you some royalties...I believe you just sold a few sets of wheels.
