    Exclamation bearings vs wheels

    hi,
i couldn't find a thread on this while i think it is quiet interesting.
in general, what will have the most effect on someones distance per push? good wheels or good bearings (for the question, let's assume they are both the same quality)
i also ask this because i wanna juice up my pimp mobile. (longboard )
i now have greaseballs abec 5 bearings and 65 mm 78a nineball wheels
what will change my distance per push the most? getting some uber bearings? (feel free for suggestions > 50$) or great pumping/cruising wheels (also here, suggestions please for super wheels under 50$, not more than 70mm because of wheelbite)

wheel size def has a great effect on the push. i have two boards, one with 69mm and one with 76mm. my bro rides with me alot and i have to slow down for him to keep up cuz the 76 rolls like a dream.

if i were you, id get some bone reds(great bearing for low price bout $20)
id suggest wheels but i only look at ones around 75-80mm range.

Wheels, hands down. So many great choices out there right now at < 70mm, it's really hard to make a recommendation. Just read around a bit in the wheels forum.

Now if your Grease balls are dirty, you may want to look into some new clean bearings as well. There are many choices under $10. that are awesome. Pleasure Tool, Mile High, VXB, Mini Logo. I'll never say a bearing will make you go faster, but there's no substitute for clean bearings.

I own the Abec11 Gumballs 76mm wheels in 78a and those perform sooooooooooooo good, I can't think of doing long distance trip without them.
You could get them on pipeline for 62$ free shipping over here
    Pipeline Surf
If you can't slide, want to push less and have fun, go for those

69-70mm should be the smallest you go for longboards in general, any smaller and you're getting into pool/park stuff. I wouldn't get the caddilacs, mainly because I haven't ridden them or heard anything from reliable sources about them. But the other wheels you mentioned are good as well, but I'd say the best cruising wheels out there are Abec11 flywheels. The bigger your wheels, the longer you're going to roll, and the harder your wheels, the less grip you'll get and the longer your wheels will last. So, basically, get some flys in 78 or 81a and be happy.

i own s9 bintang but i want to be able to turn very quick without having to kicktail-turn,(this sucks on a 38inch board, for me) so i have to get really turny and loose trucks and if my wheels are too big i can't set my trucks that loose. (going to be randal RII 150mm) and i already have angled riser pads

I disagree, 66mm zigs kick ass, especially on topmounts when worrying about wheelbite
70-75mm is like the medium wheel size for longboards anything higher is a big wheel size, I think 80mm and above is a bit impractical, and anything below is small
65 is the smallest I would go

Hosoi Hammerhead, Trackers, blank red wheels

O-tang in 80a are soft so maybe 83a(purple)
I have the wheels you listed, minus the Cadillacs, and I suggested the two above for their hi-rebound urethane. They roll much smoother and faster. Keep your bearings and clean them entirely and then re-lube with Bones Speed Cream.

someone told me the two wheels you suggest are too hard and stiff for fun. good for downhill and high speed but not comfortable for just commuting, chilling, cruising.

That's exactly why I suggested the low 80 duros. Puuurfect for commuting, assuming you ride on sidewalks and paved roads, right? 70 duros are good for rough pavement and trying to hold your line while hard cornering. They can be great for rolling over anything but can become sluggish. Low to mid 80 duros are perfect for what you want to do.

hi rebound urethane is great for it's ability to be so grippy and stick a line, however if you were to compare zig zags, and just wheels with regular abec 11 urethane in the same duro, the latter is going to be much better for all around cruising and minimizing shocks and vibrations from the road, also they'll have a smoother drift and depending on shape and duro that you want to get will still be relatively grippy, while only sacrificing a negligible amount of roll speed

    Flywheels.....WTF?

Flywheels on a Bintang? I use to own your deck and it's bigger brother. You don't want Flywheels on there. However, if you feel comfortable with the other two then go for it. I still highly suggest my first two choices for their hi-rebound urethane. If you can go Gumballs then go with Big Zigs. All Retro wheels have the Reflex urethane formula.

Here's one of my decks with a 75mm Otang InHeats in 80a which are EXTREMELY grippy.
