i think i killed my bearings

hi,
while unscrewing my bearings for a regular checkup i accidently made a quite big dent in them.
can i just pull of the cap, take something flat out or iron and 'push' the dent back out?
another things, i have greaseball abec 5's and i can't seem to get the shield/cap off. how did you guys do that?
and when i relube them, how much drops of lube should i put in them?

Greaseballs have shields that are crimped on. They don't really come off without being destroyed.

So, yes, you have indeed killed one. =(

hmm, are there more bearings like this? because i know a skateshop near the place i will go on holiday on and they sell bearings (just a few) abec 7.
i was thinking about getting some of those by then.

ditch the shield (the part you dented) and put it in so that side of the bearing is inside the wheel.

2 drops of lube is enough.

What brands do they carry? ABEC ratings are meaningless.

buy bones reds, they are cheap and easy to maintain

just buy from a good company: i recommend Black Panther, Bones, or MHM.

I have used (basically) the MHS bearings for years.. by far the best bang for the few bucks.
Inexpensive and the seals are great.. many a world champion has podiumed on the same basic product

He's thinking about bearings with removable shields. You can't take off the shields on greaseballs. Get the Mile High Skates bearings. They are great and are really cheap.

i'll just buy some new ones. i'll search for good ones but i think that now ANY bearing would be an improvement
