    Default System wheels

Anyone tried these? I've seen the other thread. Anybody have a review/pictures?

I had systems recommended by longboardstore for my poolking.

They're light blue with a weiner dog on 'em. PM me an address and I'll send them to you. Rip the hell out of them them and post a review. They're barely dirty.

I wish I could shred haha I'm just thinking about them for a cruiser instead of abec11 70's flaskbacks.

Didn't system (aka the longboard store) just take the molds from the spoked 70mm superballs and run them again in purty colors? Boo! We deserve more!

    Found this: New System wheels

I'd offer to slash some if I were going to some big hills sooner than the 17th... Guess I could always spend a night going sideways in Boston... I'd be happy to actually... But for now I'm brizzoke and a set of wheels just to kill ain't in the budgie.

But there's somewhat of a review in the meantime if yer wonderin'.

I cored a set (techinically dregs wheels but poured in the same thane and shape by labeda). Really slippery if youre looking for a soft wheel to slide. They wear pretty fast but theyre fun. Kind of slow but they roll nicely with little chatter though which is good for a round lipped wheel. I'd say if your not looking to slide get a more plush wheel like an otang or EW smoker but if your cruising and want to dabble in sliding then go for these.

Hell,I'll take em off your hands. I've actually got a set showing up tomorrow but they're for a complete I'm putting together for a friend and she said what she wanted was a cheap attractive wheel. These fit the bill pretty well. I can almost guarantee the mold release will barely get ridden off, too bad. I'd love to have a set for myself to tear up.

I don't plan on doing much sliding at all. I've been cruisin on a set of 78a 70's flashbacks for a year now, do you think the systems would hold up as well?

Whats your setup? These wheels will hold up if your not going to be sliding them but i'd say get a nice grippy set of plush wheels. That way when you start to progress you'll have a nice slidey wheel in the flashbacks and a nice grippy wheel in the ???? ( Check out Gravity Burners. Theyre relatively cheap but theyre fast and grippy)

If I had mutiple sets, I'd send them to all of you that's offered to use 'em up.
OP didn't take me up on the free offer.

vivalaalec was the first to send a msg last night and has since sent me an addy, so they'll go to him today.

He offered to pay for them or at least for shipping, without being asked. His cost - zip! All I ask is that he gives us pics and pass the favor on someday to some other unexpecting soul.

I just went out to take pics and might've figured out why I wasn't enthused over them (2 months experience later). They came with system bearings and I notice the spacers are pretty loose in there. I also see where the seals mushed in from tightening the nut. I probably didn't get/use speed rings with that first set up. I'm going to put a new set of MHS bearings in before shipping and the way it looks, probably add a speedring inside to get a proper fit so they'll roll right. Yeah... now I pretty much know why they made the board feel slow and I took them off. Live and learn and good on Alec and his gf.

The bearing shields mush in like that from tightening the axle-nut without slowly backing off your skate-key/socket - the wrench travels right into the bearing as the nut tightens. Speed rings help but lack of them wont mangle your bearings like that.

IMO they suck. You can see mold lines going down the middle of the wheels and they look and feel like they would fall apart. Sick with your flashacks they're better.

may be but how much can they suck when they're FREE! His (the recipient) gf won't know the diff.

Maybe I'll just go with the flashbacks? I don't really know. I like them its just that my board was ran over yesterday and the wheels are ruined so I need a new set. Since TLS doesn't have the 78a flashbacks in stock would the 81a feel like much of a difference?

They would have a slightly harder rougher ride and slide a little better. But it wouldn't be that much different i don't think.

Mold lines in the middle of the wheel have nothing to do with the quality of a wheel

So if I go with the systems will I need to get speed rings also? Kind of unsure about that bit.

All wheels need bearing spacers and speeds rings to work there best.

Some bearings such as built ins have these items incorporated into their design.

Faced hangers will eliminate the need for an inboard speed ring.
