Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I've never seen them mentioned here, aside from me recommending them for sliding.
Anyone here ridden em?
Also, I think people over-rate gumballs/zigzags. Why people recommend them for sliding I've no idea. Carving? sure, but sliding?

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
for being so good at carving, gumballs and zigzags, along with many other lipped wheels recommended on this site for sliding, are infact surprisingly well-suited for that purpose.
but yeah my friend has a board with some 75a no skools on it. its a schlongboard so i couldn't get too good of a feel for them but they seemed fine. they didnt really stand out ans too good at anything, though.

They are center set, and gumballs/zigzags will chatter and when you slide on them.
Not exactly ideal.

yeah they chatter, but for doing something that the wheels really aren't intended for many perform decently well. some better than others.

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I loved riding no skoolz on a loose landy dropspeed

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I skated them forever on my tranny/roundwall riders (60mm-96a). I went thru about 3 sets of them. I also use some different diameters and hardnesses on some of my other boards. They are a little bit slow. As I have undergone 2 years of injuries on my rear leg (knee problems), my control and strength is lower. I went ahead and sprung for a narrower and taller wheels to gain some roll (65mm noskoolz are too heavy for my taste on tranny/roundwall); the 62mm skwertz were great though. They serve me just fine. I even nabbed a set of the pink versions as a back up.
I will say, I still have the 3 sets of 60mm 96a, they are worn (57mm ish), but not abused. If you want to maybe go the used route. They might be great for sliding too.
My comments represent a selfishly one sided 1970's skateboarder mindset, and do not reflect the current fashion-skate-lifestyle industry's views.

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I run a set of 78a 65mm no-schoolz on my rayne pug. They are under rated wheels. In the harder duros they make excellent sliders and because they are center set, you can rotate the crap out of them and will last a very long time.

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I use the 60mm 78a on a popsicle.
mostly for flow sections in parks and lil bowls.
on blacktop they are smooth so you can still commute to the park and use the board when you get there .
i can switch with a set of bones spf 56mm for a pure park feel but i mostly
stay on the noskoolz.
i cant say one wheel is better then the other but small adjustments in riding timing etc seem to make more difference then the wheels ability to actually work in the park.
the bones spf are horrible on the street
noskoolz ftw !

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
Had them for a while on a couple setups.
They are some seriously sweet wheels, slide buttery smooth and don't make a sound either (good for avoiding the cops) just a tad slow in my opinion but maybe faster with a higher duro

i have 96a and they are awesome. wide for carving up bowls, light for getting the board in the air, and hard for tech sliding

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I have 65mm 81a No skoolz on my 56" dregs board with randal 180's.. I used them to learn stand up frontside/backside 180's on that setup. Very nice wheel.
I think these are underrated. I can pump and slide these wheels with ease. I just picked up a set of 78a from Abec11 HQ today for a bit more grip.
Life is short, have fun.

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I've gone through three sets of 78a's. They are a great all-around wheel as they are pretty fast and you can keep flipping them to even out the wear because they are center set. However... 62mm 'gators grip better and Fat Frees slide way better.
If you do run NoSkoolz stay away from the higher duros like 96a. They are slow as hell.

Re: Any love for Abec 11 No skoolz?
I had a set of No Skoolz a long time ago and I loved them. I probably won't ever get them again though because I always want to try different wheels and they keep coming out faster than I can core them & buy new ones.
If you go fast enough, you never have to look back.

Thread necro...
I just broke in my set of 60mm 81a noskoolz practicing colemans and they slide very smoothly and silently. I can make the backend drift out on carves sooo easily now, it's scary.
