    Default What wheels?

I just ordered a Comet Shred City and am now considering what wheels would best go with it.

I'll be using this board to get around the city, learn standing slides, and the occasional kickflips, ollies, etc.

What wheels would suit me best? Budget is about $50 but it's not written in stone.

    check out these puppies

for a grippy yet slidable all arounder.
Abec11 wheels Freeride 72mm 80a Lime : The Longboard Store

a little more slip than the retros.
Gravity wheels Drifter 70mm 80a Black Wheels : The Longboard Store

and some nice silent soft sliders.
Sector Nine wheels 70mm 80a Race Formula Yellow : The Longboard Store

the retros and s9 RFs are flippable for longer lasting wheels if you slide them alot.

Orangatang Durians - little more expensive than $50, but great for sliding. Ride won't be as smooth as a softer wheel, but I dunno how good the pavement is in your city.

No idea about kickflips or ollies. Assume wheels won't affect that at all.

bigger wheels won't gy-rate as fast as smaller. so kick flipping phatty wheels would be harder.... in theory. i would stick to 70mm wheels for ollies and whatnot.

thing about Otang urethane is that it wears fast while sliding (which is why the slides are so smooth).

the slalom shape of the wheel (ie big lip) will make it great for traction. you will need to wear down that lip and make it rounded to slide it better. so skip the step and get the rounded lips if you want to slide.
of course the 82a will slide better than an 80a wheel.

if you're more of a grip guy then that'll be fantastic. especially if you only plan on sliding everyonce in a while.

if you're gonna be into sliding more than just occationally i would get a rounded lip.

    but it's all preferance.
