Re: Abec11
Dude, I was set on gumballs... then I went to the Abec11 site and saw the flys and I was like, "I should totally get these, I NEED those pimpin ass orange rims".
Seriously though, they're the same size, same durometer... does the orange "rim" make any difference?
I'm brand fucking new to the whole art of longboarding, and I wanna get me some sweet ass wheels, but don't wanna get a fatty chunk out of them in 2 days like my 9balls did.

Re: Abec11
What kind of riding are you planning on doing? (DH, cruising, commuting, sliding, etc.)

Re: Abec11
the "orange rim"/ core will make for a rougher ride than the bumballs, which have a small core.
it all depends on thane depth, the less than, the rougher the ride, the more thane, the more its gonna absorb the road a little.
if you wanna drift more, get the flys, if you wanna grip more get the gumballs.
both would be good for DH,

Re: Abec11
Cruisin, commuting, the occasional garage, I've yet to find a hill sufficient enough to ride, but a little DH.... basically just whatever I feel like doing when i get bored.
I;m just looking to go as fast as I can for a long ass time so my buddy has to watch me just "float" on my board while he pushes his element trick deck every 20 seconds.
I mostly ride on the street too, as opposed to sidewalk... if it means anything.
Oh yeah... want good grip, very little slide.

Re: Abec11
Gumballs have lasted my friend 2 years of hard riding. and he has the 76a ones (regrets getting such a soft wheel) he is not into sliding (he does some speed checking), or DH (he like to bomb, but its more Balls than Skills).
another friend has the 76 flys, buy he just uses them to cruise.
the advantage of the flywheel is that is is lighter, and quicker. the disadvantages is there is less thane on the core, less meat on them bones. its not as plush a ride. they do slide easier, cuz they're radiused. the Gumballs will slide quite nicely once broken in.
for the most bang for your buck, get some Gumballs. you will be happier in the long haul. then later on get the 83mm flys.

Re: Abec11
Reefer - I have ridden both. For what you want I would think
you would be much better off with the Gumballs. Super smooth
and grip well, with controllable drift. (Mine are 78A). Gumballs
are super plush and smooth.
