    Default 97a 64MM Powell Wheels?

I was looking into getting specific slide wheels and I came upon a $35 Powell Wheel 97a 64MM wheel. Is this wheel a slide wheel? I haven't seen anyone mention Powell wheels..kind of seems bootleg and is it for skateboard or longboard? I saw it in the skateboard section but it seems usable for longboarding.

well actually my local retail store, valsurf only sells spitfire, powell, and girl wheels. I figure powell is the only wheel for longboard sliding? or if you know any shops that sell abec 11 products

actually I have a zumiez, sports authority, and valsurf. I live in Woodland Hills, California and there aren't any good retail stores here =/ but would you recommend powell wheels for sliding on a longboard?

If thats all you have then I guess they'll hold you over. But the best wheels for sliding are Earthwing Slide A's. (If you want to know where to buy them, milehighskates.com) or google it

I have slid a couple sets of Powell G-Bones 62mm 97a. They worked well, I could do 720s on them without losing too much speed, but Slide A's are definitely way more slippery. Gravity makes Sergio Sliders which are another slide specific wheel, they are not as slick as Slide A's but cost about the same as the powell wheels and would definitely be slicker than those. The best sliding wheels by Powell would probably be SPF's (I haven't tried them but they are hard enough). I really recommend Slide A's above all else though.

P.S. I have given up on local skate shops. It seems very few areas are serviced by legit skate shops so if you want gear that is for anything other than flatland/park riding you have to shop online.
