I'd just go with the gumballs, orangutangs would be a im guessing (haven't ridden them) but for me gumballs are tried and true and plenty cheaper, maybe if you were wanting to get in to downhill (proper DH not bombing a few hills) but since your deck of choice isn't of that inclination, just roll with the gumballs. They're a nice wheel, I suggest 78a.

For your purpose, Gravity Hi-Grades would be a better choice IMO, very grippy, and wears slow.

Worth the extra money? Not really, if you're going for something all-around. I'd only spend that extra money if you were racing DH and were looking for some very specific characteristics- not that they are any better, just different.

Otherwise Gumballs are great- I'd prefer them anyway to In-Heats for their grippy nature AND more narrow contact patch for pushing ease. They are super comfortable, and I'd definitely recommend 75a or 78a.

Neither are very grippy. If you want a smooth grippy ride Abec11 grippins in 75a-78a will be very plush, VERY grippy and last a long time. Zigs in pink or lime will also be grippy and last forever.

I ordered gumballs but i didnt notice they were 84a, thats the only option mile high skates had(cheapest there, also free bearing) is that to hard for carving, i really want to be able to carve hard.Im gunna be riding pretty long distances, will the hardness make it really uncomfortable?

But since they are pretty hard 84a itll be a less smoother ride and not so grippy right? the harder the less shock is absorbed, so i dno what to do.

Yeah, 84a Gumballs will not be very grippy or cushy. I'd email MHS for some other wheels, if it's not too late....

Thumbs up Re: Orang in heats Vs. Abec 11 gumballs

Jost got some 75a Gumballs today and Bones redz. These wheels are super smooth compared to my orangatang stimulus which is pretty obvious i suppose. I wanted a wheel that i could go around a corner fast with without losing controle of the slide, im trying to get a controlled drift going, didn't get to test them properly yet but for just cruising and carving around these wheels are perfect! Maybe a little too soft but this was the only option available so they will do. Bought these for my sector nine but im going to leave them on my FSM for now
    Quiver:
Decks: Sector 9 pintail, Comet FSM, Comet Voodoo Doll
    Trucks: Gullwing, Randall, Sabres
    Wheels: Orangatang, Abec 11, EW

Grippins aren't VERY grippy. The form isn't grippy. 75as will be grippy enough, but not VERY. Agree with the Zigs.

Orange InHeats will wear faster than gumballs, slide a little bit more choppily, are a bit faster and have a little harder transition point. Gumballs are nice for everything other than speed. They're slowww wheels.

MHS has the 78as for $5 more I believe, I think it might be worth it in this case. I think one of our fellow fishers is also selling his new 78a gummies in the classifieds for $35, not sure if they're still there, but worth a look.

Compared to what? Gumballs are a naturally a slow wheel. Just plush and unlively. Thats what gives them their good attributes though. They're grippy yet slide smoothly.

Lime Bigzigs....... Gumballs are obsolete in comparison

Bigzig and zigzags are also coming out in abec 11 classic formula soon!

I have GumBalls in 78a AND 84a. I like my 84a GumBalls on my HellCat when Im just carving down hills and sliding. Its so easy to slide which makes them very very fun in my opinion. They can hold a corner tight if your experienced enough. They drift alittle but if you hold it tight you won't have a problem.

I had 78a GumBalls on my Legendary Gnome which was ok I guess. Good for pumping, didn't slide out too easily, relatively grippy. I like them both just the same.

As for being slow; The 84a GumBalls were very slow compared to my Orange Bennett Alligators 71mm. The GumBalls slow down faster and dont roll as far.

I love my Pink BigZigz. Haven't found a better wheel yet.

What is the classic formula like? Same as powerballs or those amber ones?
