Should I leave as is for freeriding or radius them?
Where did you find those? They look alright, I'd say leave as is, and if they seem too grippy radius them.

Ive been digging my yellow 84a bennet alligators. Wears very evenly and slides like its 78a. The lips make them really easy to push out also which is nice.

Although the fact that they're bigger then the round slipped 70mm RF also makes the contact patch a bit wider, so the 70mm 82a Race Forms are slidier.
These wheels definately hold their line but they don't slide smooth and easy enough to feel safe busting 30 mph, 20 foot standers with 50 foot cliffs on each side. I would trust them if I was a grom on my first board, just learning how to slide and wasn't sure whether or not I'd be sliding or dancing 6 months from now. They are fast and made of great thane, but poorly executed. Stick to yellow Race Forms.
Overall okay wheels, it just seems like they can't decide what they want them to do.
Im not sure how the red race forms are but the yellow 70mm 80A radius lipped wheels are probably the best wheels i have ever ridden. When broken in correctly they slide like pure butter, though they do cut your speed like crazy. they maintain their grip and are predictable. IMO the old yellows are the best. The new red race forms are a different formula from my understanding, from what i have heard the reds get crappy after a while, unpredictable and choppy slide.

Re: Free ride wheel comparisons
Okay guys...
First off they are 78a Grippins. No graphic. They are also radiused. Here's how;
I turned a treadmill on.
I put my board on the treadmill so the wheels would spin.
Then I took a file and radiused them.
I also made sure I had a mask on and everything was well ventilated, and cleaned up afterwards.
Now they are big noskools, basically.

No kidding, I owned some 69mm Yellow Race Formula's and loved them to death. I've also ridden a set of the 70mm round lipped ones and they seemed like a kickass freeride wheel, I don't have enough time on them to make a full review on them but I'd definately buy some. From what I've seen Red Race Forms are a whole 'nuther story...
But yeah I agree, Yellow Race Forms are the ####.

QFT. It's cancerous and not something you want to inhale, open the doors/windows and wear a mask. You can buy them for cheap, and get some for free at a doctors office if you ask nicely. There's no need to buy a $60 respirator unless you plan on making bushings or wheels from raw 'thane.
Regarding the soy wheels, from what I know about urethane, it doesn't sound too suitable to make wheels out of. Green, yeah, but if you want a quality product green isn't always the way to go, and it shouldn't dictate the way you shop. What makes quality urethane is how close the molecules are packed together. A "loose" urethane will result in chunking, deformation, uneven wear, and lack of inertia/slowness. In Heats are a prime example of a wheel that uses shitty quality urethane, they are a ton of fun, slide great, and grip great, but face it, they wear like a bitch and are slow. While a "tighter" urethane will be denser, making the wheel faster, wear slower, and still hopefully have all the qualities of In Heats and lack all the fallbacks that the bad 'thane creates.
Soy urethane is usually used to insulate houses using a spray foam. Insualation should not be expensive and is usually pourice and loose. I could be completely wrong, that was just a bit of theory building right there...

So is it true? Red race forms have a different formula to yellow race forms? This is new to me...

No, respirators will definately protect you more then anything else, but it's only really necessary if you're making your own wheels/bushings. I used a mask that people use to protect themselves from the flu and toxic air in Beijing, Mexico City, and other polluted to hell cities. You can buy a box of masks at 7/11 for like, $1.50, or you can get heavier duty masks at Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, etc, that will get the job done better then 7/11 masks, but for only like, 2 dollars more.

Re: Free ride wheel comparisons
Those masks are bogus. All the ones I've tried let particles in around the edges since they don't 'seal' onto your face. Plus, they're so uncomfortable. You're better off with a damp t-shirt.
I picked up a dual cartridge respirator from a composites supply shop for $16. Way comfortable, and worth it to save your lungs.
The difference is easy to see when using solvents/paint - with those little masks you can still smell fumes like crazy, but with a respirator you don't smell any solvents at all.

yeah im still here, but i already radioused these puppies. next wheel though, im coming over to your place.
edit: can people compare classic abec 11 freerides to flashbacks? like smooth sliding, breakout effort, durability, wear/tear...
thanks.
