Re: cheap bearing comparisons
When you start riding, you won't even remember about your bearings. Clean them, take care of them, and you will be fine.

Re: cheap bearing comparisons
Personally, i've had Reds, Rush, MHS and Pleasure tools. and out of all those i rate them:
1.Pleasure tool
1. MHS
2.Reds
3. Rush
tie for pleasure tool and MHS. the pleasure tools i have are sealed and have been left in teh rain about 3 times and i still use them perfectly.
Turn on. Tune in. Drop out.

Re: cheap bearing comparisons
If your bearings feel slow, find a steeper hill. Works every time, 60% of the time. I loved my old bones swiss, but reds feel just as fast. When it comes time to clean them is when the difference is noticeable. I could ride a day on reds and a month on swiss and the swiss would still be way cleaner. Reds are under $15 so you can buy 3 sets for the same price making them almost disposable. That, or you could buy swiss and clean them every few months.

Re: cheap bearing comparisons
I would consider daddies board shop bearings. Have used MHS, DBS, and ML's. DBS' are my favorite of the 3 for $12.50 a set.
