    Default Mixing Wheel Size

Not for downhill, just all around riding, mostly transport in the city. What would be the effect of say 90mm wheels in the back and 75mm in the front. Like 75a 90mm flys, and white avilas. Will it roll longer than if I had all 75mm? Or get up to speed faster than all 90mm?

i cant remember where i saw it but i remember someone used a 70 front and 75 back, its less of a difference than what you'll have but they liked it. if you do it the slide/drift will be a trip for sure. i suggest using the same shaped wheel for the front and back for consistency's sake, even though the severe size difference will be inconsistent enough.

try it and let us know how it feels.

It would give you a forward rake in a tuck, that's about it. More would be said about varied widths than heights.

i say forget the 90mm flys. if you are just cruising you aren't going to be topping out the roll speed of such a massive wheel. 76mm fly with a mid 80mm fly in back if you want to stick with that shape.

All it would do is the height difference would affect you truck angles very slightly.

If you made up the height difference with risers, it could probably work, but on a topmount it's going to be goofy high.

I wouldn't personally try it, but i would be interested in hearing back from you about it.

suggestions: 76mm flys in the front, 83 or 90mm in the back

or 66/70mm zigs front, bigzigs in back. who knows, could be interesting?

    or buy a chinook

    contact Chris Yandall

From his site Skogging, Switch Push, Pump and Carve - Longboarding Skateboarding Style - Chris Yandall
"Chris has designed a unique riding system using larger wheels in the rear and smaller up front for long distance one-footed switch skateboarding on a very basic flat designed deck which outperforms most skateboards at a fraction of the cost. A full nose and tail with very little flex is required for a new addition to your quiver that you'll enjoy for aerobic exercise and a different ride that demands a keen sense of balance and stamina for grabbing the G-force by the balls and stoking up the honey. without risers = dewedge in front + wedging in back + slanted riding platform.

if you do the math it simplifies to

    = don't do it.

(unless you like riding an evo backwards... OTHERWISE balance it out with risers and I'm gunna go with the general suggestion - try it and get back to us)

you could try with like...a flipped randal 42 in the back and a randal 50 unflipped in the front, that might make up some of the height difference...
