At the moment i am riding 83a retro freerides on my dervish,i do a bit of downhill(nothing to fast),dancing and alot of sliding(with gloves,i find it hard learning standies on the retros). The freerides are about 66 mm now,i like how they slide, just not howlong they slide for(a bit to grippy).
I am now looking for a wheel that will slide for longer then the lemon freerides, though i do not want crazy long slides where you do not burn any speed.
So i am looking for a wheel that still has enough grip for carving, though slides for longer then the retro freerides as they burn tomuch speed.
I know i am going to be reccomended to go for the durians, though the only problem with them is that sometimes i can go practice sliding for an hour straight, going up and down a hill, which i dont think the durians will last very long.
Anyway what do you recomend, could someone please shed some light on the RF's and 86a otangs,i do not know much about them?
I would also looking to learn standies, its just that i have ate #### so many times on the retros im not vary confident...possible because i have to push hard to loose traction.
A smooth sliding wheel will wear fast, get used to it...
The yellow O-Tangs slides long and fast, they don't scrub that much speed during a slide, but it's not uncontrollable, just super fun. Best "freeride" wheel I've tried.
The new amber freerides is another favorite, they are grippier than the otangs, but still have a really smooth slide, nothing like the reflex urethane freerides.
i've been doing hour slide sessions every day on my yellow stimulus, and all there is is just some slight coning (1-2mm). once these wheels cone. they slide like butter and like blix said, it's a bit uncontrollable. if you want more grip, get the purple otang freerides, if you want more slip, yellow.

lulz. The Sec9RF (round lipped) feel great in the slide, but i think you'll find them too grippy for what you're looking to do. Have you looked at Powerballs? They're the same shape as the wheel you're currently using but in the Pink thane. Super smooth drifts and slides, they'll be pretty similar to the new Classic Thane Freerides. Another wheel is the Gravity Drifter. They're not the most durrable wheel but have a nice grip that can easily be pushed out into a four wheel slide. Hope that helps.

my durians are great at higher speeds they slide like butter and hiss, but the bark at lower speeds they dont wear quick but like dozer said they wear 2-3 milimeters easily
also retro freerides rule i have them on my ASYM and they rule they grip moderatly well when needed (unlike the durians) and thry break out when you want and hookback up on time
-and they leave huge yellow marks

Thanks for the replies so far, i want something thats more slidy then my lemon retroes freerides, though not a wheel that is extrememly slidy and uncontollable...
The otang 86a... anyone else have any more opinions if they are so slidy that they are uncontollable(thats the thing that turns me off)?
The otang 83a...If i think the durians would be to grippy, wouldn't it make more sence for me to get the stimulus, though the only problem with that is they wont last as long as durians since they are 70mm.
Are s9 rf to grippy?
Also i would go for the powerballs though they are 78a,probably just as grippy as my retros...
to be honest, I'm a big fan of my classic krypto freerides.. really smooth and epic grip and super super durable... some will find too grippy though but I really like how controlled and still long the slides are.

Good luck finding those easily.

78a Flashbacks have been my favorite so far. Slide FOREVER once they get coned but still lose speed. Smoothest and most controllable soft sliding wheels I've ridden (against Race Forms, Powerballs, 83a Stimulus, 80a/83a Retro Freerides, 78a Strikers). They're not incredibly durable, and I've almost killed mine after about 3 weeks of riding, but I was so hooked on them at first I was out on hills for 3-4 hours a day almost 2 weeks (summer's sweet). Also, they're cheaper than most wheels and you might be able to find them locally.

Ok yeh i dont really want flashback,i want a wheel that is menat to be slid
After alot of research i have narrowed it down to
purple durians
purple stimulus
yellow durians(i figure yellow stimulus will slide to long/uncontrollably.
Does the purple stimulus or durians last longer, since the durians are 75mm and the stimulus have a smaller conact patch i don't know? And do they slide much differently?
