Default 86a Durians? A little too drifty?

My birthday is coming around the corner and my parents want to know what i want. I said longboard wheels but I still need to choose.

These will go on my evo to mess around on. Not really for DH. I'll probably stay under 30mph because of the driftyness of the wheel.

So would 86a be too drifty? Is 83a the way to go?

you are on a drop deck which is already drifty depending on the truck setup, most cast trucks on an evo will be drifty. so an 86a round lipped wheel on a low drifty board sounds like it would be very drifty. personally i love the 83a otang thane.

depends on what you want. If you WANT a drifty ride they're probably just right. I know I might get a set one day just so I can occasionally have the opposite of my typical grippy setup.

alittle "too" drifty is why these wheels rule. I own yellow otangs in 70 and 75mm

I doubt it'll make much of a difference, the actual wheel shape and construction affects drift more (look at soft old krypto's)

PS... they have soo much more grip on a top mount... on my drop through with 215 hybrids I can't hold a line much past 10 mph with yellow durians.

with yellow stims on my MM I can carve at 20 easy.

I'm gonna go for the yellows. For sure. I don't really care if I can't carve. It's not really my carving board anyways. I want something I can go out and thow down some long slides after school.

    Get them.

I like having one set of wheels that grips like sin, and another that doesn't grip at all.

You won't regret the purchase, I promise you.

I just got a set of these for my Chinook, 75mm 86a. It's a freeride board, I like to downhill with it, and just go pushing around town, but I've also been wanting to learn to slide and do speed checks. They still seem like they're pretty grippy when you want them to be, but will break loose when you want them to. I haven't ridden them very much since I got them (the weather's been shite), but they seem like they grip pretty well. Most of what I've been told is that they'll really hold on pretty good until you make them slide.
