    Default BigZigs or Gumballs?

I'm looking at building up a kracked skulls scimitar, and the wheel options for the complete board are all abec11. I want the board for carving, cruising, and maybe a little bit of sliding but definitely the priority at this point is carving. I weigh 120, and I'll have randal 180's on there. Should I get gumballs or BigZigs, and if so what duro? I kinda don't want pink wheels (77a duro) but that seems like the best option.

    Thanks.

I think 83A Big Zigs would suit your style

both wheels are very comparable, in fact the old big zigs were practically the same shape as gumballs. both wheels grip well (gumballs in lower duros) and both wheels are capable of sliding, and the urethane depth will give you a plush ride.

either wheel will fit your needs, though gumballs will slide easier when broken in because the retro "reflex" urethane is grippier.

if you go with the gumballs i say get them in 81a or lower.

but again both are great wheels

Only my opinion but the ones for really hard carving are the BigZig Pinks they stick to the road like #### to a blanket, although you say you don't want pink wheels, otherwise you can't
go wrong with the limes either.Seriously wheel colour like skin shouldn't matter.

In terms of comparison, Zigs vs. Gumballs, there isn't much of a difference. They're both made by Abec 11 and will be good quality and wear evenly no matter what you choose.

No pink - Not a fan of the color myself so I personally agree with that sentiment. If you're main goal is carving, but you potentially want sliding capability, my vote goes toward the 78a Retros, preferably 70mm if your board can handle it. They're a great grip for carving and you can still slide them if you so choose. Otherwise, just try not to go above about 84a and you're good. It's all a matter of preference.
