Default Speed Demon Bearing Help Needed

Hello. I am currently cleaning all my bearings and re-lubing them. Most are MHS bearings and a dream to disassemble and clean, re-lube, and reassemble. I have a pair of Gold Speed Demon bearings that I can not figure out how to take the shield off easily.

They look like this : Speed Demon Gold Bearings ABEC 7

Am I missing something? Is there an easy trick? Thanks in advance.

    Those shields don't come off.

What you can do is either decide to trash one shield, pry it off (which will destroy it). Clean & lube, then run the open side inward, like on Bones bearings.

Or, punch a small hole in one shield which will allow solvents in to clean, and also for you to drop lube through. Again, run the side with the hole inward into the wheel.

    Thank you!!!

They still spin effortlessly and look clean. Should I try to spray some TriFlow in there without trashing them, or soak them in oil?

Well, if you put lube in them and there is dirt, it will loosen it up and send it into the race ways where the balls roll. Then you will hear some grinding noises and it's all down hill from there.

If they are spinning well, and making no noise, you're probably in good shape.

The best "tell" a dirty bearing will give is the sound. If it is making a lot of crackling/crunchy sounds there's dirt in there.
