Perceived speed on a skateboard usually is significantly lower than actual speed.
He's never measured his speed. He say's he's been skating half his lifetime and knows how to "feel" speed. I know how speeds fell, too. and there's no way he gained 10mph just because his bearings broke in.
He's talking about the speeds he can run up, not his speed down a hill, by the way. He speed skates.
