Scammed by Bones
I bought the Super Swiss 6 bearings on a whim, to see if they really were any better than Reds. I feel cheated.
A note to anyone wondering if they should upgrade their bearings: save your cash. I actually feel like these are WORSE than reds.

You're an idiot. They stay cleaner longer, they spin similar since reds already spin nicely. The quality of the balls is higher, less rolling friction, which is why you pay more. The only difference you MIGHT notice is in a time trial, and even at that the difference will be small.
"Scammed" is a harsh word. Stop being a drama queen, they didnt take your money and leave you with nothing.

like he said, they deffinately stay clean and since the steel balls are bigger they produced less friction because of the bigger balls, let me explain.
just think your longboard, if you put 65mm wheels most likely you are not going to go as fast if you have a 75mm wheels.

65mm wheels will accelerate faster than 75mm wheels, but the 75mm will have better top speed capabilites....but I would just say stick with Reds, ceramics definitely aren't worth the money, and you prolly wouldn't even clean your bearings any less than you would Reds. I say try to sell them and buy some reds and some wheels with the money

Re: Scammed by Bones
Yeah, they stay a bit cleaner, but prying open the shields is on par with defusing a bomb. The reds shields pretty much just pop off. I'm scared that I'll rip the shields on these things. Is there really a breaking in period? Will the difference be noticeable after that or should I really just sell them? And if a 30 dollar upgrade is only noticeable in time trials, they should be a lot cheaper.

they cost a lot more to produce
get over it, if you don't like them then get something cheaper the next time, although that probably won't be for quite some time, I have a set of them that I haven't cleaned in a year and a half and they're still fine

Re: Scammed by Bones
yeah nobody forced you to buy them, its a very minimal difference but you pay alot for that upgrade. Same goes for precision trucks, its not a huge difference but youre paying a big chunk of change for that upgrade.

And you think that's fair?
Guys, clearly I'm not going to get these bearings again. Yes, scammed may have been a harsh term. Can we clear up the fact that the price increase vs quality increase is completely unwarranted now? You're paying a ~300% markup for a ~25% increase in quality (because you don't have to clean them as often). That's bullshit. I expected much more bang for my buck, especially from a reputable company, and I was let down.

When did business ever have to be fair? The bearings have an improvement within them, you paid for that improvement. They supplied everything they promised. Dropping any real money on a bearing is pointless anyways throw one slide sideways and bye bye any precision that bearing really had. Bearings are made to roll forwards and backwards not for any of those sideways forces.
I paid 6 times more than cast trucks for my precisions, are they six times better? not at all but thats how the market is and i think that the price mark up was worth the advantages i got from them.

Re: Scammed by Bones
exponential price increase for a logarithmic increase in performance. difference in price between a used avenger and a brand new dee-lite? a lot. difference in performance? very small. what about corvette vs ferrari pricing? as you search for those incremental jumps in performance the amount of money you need to spend skyrockets. it's the same in every single market anywhere.
