Just spend a couple of bucks at your local hardware shop on pure mineral spirits. You will have enough for years and wont have to fight with your sisters. nail polish remover comes in small quantities.
I used to have other hobbies. Now I skate.

yes... nail polish remover is acetone, unless it stipulates on the package that it does not contain acetone. Acetone is basically a faster evaporating paint thinner, and it works like a charm to clean bearings. Don't breath in the fumes though, because you'll be in for a glue high (which is pretty much a bad headache).

Works great, but it's expensive. If you're just buying it at Walmart or whatnot, isopropyl alcohol is a lot more cost efficient. Mineral spirits/denatured alcohol from Home Depot even more so.

    MAN UP he says. sheesh

Read the label and see if it says 100% Acetone. I'm on my 2nd big bottle from CVS. I use it for cleaning bearings, wiping down trucks before painting, wiping graphics off wheels and have used it to reveal the stringer striping on a couple of EW decks.

You've got the best deal in town if your sisters is 100% acetone. If you don't have a coffee filter in the house... get one from a neighbor or friend. After cleaning your bearings, strain the polish remover back into the bottle through the coffee filter. Catches all the particulate and it's good to use again.... by your sisters.

f*** my sisters. One of them took my dervish out to skate around in the rain while i was gone and thought it would be fun to ride through the stream of water in the gutter.

I'll use the nail polish and fill the bottle back up with bleach.

oh no she didn't! I'd be pissed. Does she have any dolls left? Pluck all the eye lashes out.

You could always top her bottle off with a little wee wee

    Acetone is expensive? What?

Acetone is great for cleaning bearings and you can use one of the smaller cans they sell at Fred Meyers or any hardware store for a good chunk of a year if you filter it and reuse it. A can costs no more than 7 bucks.

If the nail polish remover they have has at least 90% acetone in it, you're golden.
