REVIEW] fireball beasts
So I got a chance to properly test out some fireballs this past weekend, and here is my feedback.
first, let me establish some kind of baseline for wheel wear, riding style etc.
I am fat (185lbs), and have a style of sliding that has a lot of my weight on the wheels (i need to work on it), and i kill wheels like a mother####er. I'm very very very good at flatspotting wheels, another thing i need to work on. the road:

these wheels started out pretty much new and 76mm, and were dead (cored) after 4 runs down this gnarly ass ####### hill. for a comparison to a common wheel, I took ~1/2 of the thane off a yellow otang stimulus, and flatspotted 3/4 wheels in 2 runs.
so now that that's out of the way, my feedback:
1) the slide. very smooth. no problems with the wheel "jumping" around, breaks free predictably, and hooks back up real nice. even went through random patches of wet/snow/leaves/all 3 and the wheels slid predictably through that crap and hooked up nicely afterwards, no highsiding. leaves very cool thane lines, you can see where you've slid each time you go back up the hill

2) wear. amazing. as previously stated, i'm very very good at flatspotting wheels, and these didnt get flatspotted until they got to this point:

The slide stayed nice and consistent from 76mm down to the core. When I first wore through them I was pretty bummed cuz I thought they wore fast, then i slapped on my yellow otangs and discovered I just kill wheels. so in short the wear is comparable/slightly better than yellow stimulus. back on the topic of flatspotting, these displayed better resistance than most wheels i've ridden. as in the only time they rattled my teeth out was when they were down to the core.
so in conclusion, these wheels rock pretty damn well, and feel real nice. these are what the wheels looked like at the end of the sesh

and compared to a new one:

it should be noted that by the time i got to the end i was focusing on flatspots to kill the wheels

speed felt quite comparable to abec11/otang. i havent used them for speedy dh, more slidey dh, but i lent them to my friend who used them for a 10mile long sweeping dh road adjacent to the slidey road, and he had no problems keeping up, so i would guess the answer is "comparable"
