Default Need help with Bones Reds!

    Hey guys,

I wonder if u can help me, I took my longboard for a ride yesterday but the streets I went were very dirty and when I got home the board was filthy. I decided to give it a clean fearing that some dirt could get inside the bearings and damage it. So I took a napkin just to remove the dust and crust from the wheels and bearings (without dissambling them), I got rid of the dirt but in the last wheel, it seems that I accidently pushed that red rubber band of the Bones inside the bearing itself, it's like it has got a little depression on it. Now this wheel is spinning slower then the others, when I spin it lightly it doesn't stop slowly, it kinda breaks, and it is making a weird noise when the wheel spins, like a "flop, flop". So I'm wondering if this little depression on the red cover is hitting the precision balls inside the bearings. Do u guys know how can I solve this problem without damaging the bearing?

    Thanks in advance!

    Vitor

Pop the seal out and straighten it

Also, you can replace it with a spare (you only need the outer seals, the inside ones are not needed as a rule

Sounds like you bent the seal a bit. Remove the bearing, use a pin, stick it through the open side (carefully) and push the seal out of the bearing out. Once it's out, wipe it down, make sure it's clean and roll something over it a few times until it sits flat again and/or reshape it with your fingers . Then just pop it back in.
