Beginner freeride wheels
I have searched this and I couldn't find any answers relevant to me.
Please bear in mind that I live in England, where Durians cost $80+ equivalent and ew isn't even availible, neither are zombie hawgs.
I am torn between lush stealth bombers, retro bigzigs, retro freerides and standard hawgs.
The wheels will be going on a homebuilt drop through with flipped randals and will be used for mild dh, freeride, cruising and commuting, som I am looking for at least 70mm preferably 75mm+. I have heard alot about the lemon bigzigs for freeride and they sound good, but my friend has stealth bombers and they are awesome. I like the plushness and speed of reflex thane, but I have tried little else. I am on a slight budget so the cheaper the better. The retros are the same price, the lush wheels are the cheapest by far and the hawgs are only by a smidge the most expensive. The lush wheels are also the biggest. Does anyone else have any ideas on other wheels or the wheels on my list.

If Sector 9 is an option, the red Race Furmula 82a in 76mm might be worth checking out.

Dude, you got no idea what we got here!
http:Octane Sport Skateboards carry Earthwing in the UK
The wheels you want though, are Cult Classics. £35 and better than Otangs as far as I'm concerned. Spanking slide, great roll speed and CHEAP! Octane do them, or longboard:source
While you;re at it, get on Longboard-Sessions.co.uk - UK Longboarding and come join in with the UK longboard scene! Racing, sliding, distance, GNAR!

Re: Beginner freeride wheels
The gamma ray is grippy as hell mate, not a freeride wheel and they cost £50. Same with all the zigz, expensive and grippy. Have alook through the 70-80mm wheels section on Octane sport and it'll blow yer mind hehe

Re: Beginner freeride wheels
Get Amber Freerides. Classic 81a Amber Freerides. They are smooth to ride on, leave EPIC thane lines letting you know you have slid, have an ultra ultra smooth slide, way smoother than Otangs, Race formulas, and relfex-thaned freerides, and are incredibly fun to ride.

Re: Beginner freeride wheels
Ive ridden both ambers and yellow stims to bud, and they are both great wheels.
I dont see what you guys are talking about with yellow stims not being smooth enough though. Mine are ####### butter, like floating. You just arnt shaving as much speed when your sliding so its not the same sort of smoothness or sound.
Durians are a little chattery though. Purple stims slide awsome to though i just killed mine. They are more comparable to freerides imo, i guess because they are softer and shave more speed.

Re: Beginner freeride wheels
I've ridden amber freerides, purp and yellow stims and durians, and purp stims are the best.
Yellow thane is pretty smooth and slide forever, purp stims are THE BEST!!!
They slide both smooth and peel as opposed scrubbing off, you know?
