Default wheel recommendation needed (carve + slide)

A friend of mine has a gs board w/ lots of snappy flex & is on slalom wheels. She's looking for a wheel that can carve, but one that can also slide predictably when desired. I was thinking of 65mm-88a abec11's noskoolz. Appropriate? Anybody have any recommendations?
    Thx,
    - Greg

66mm strikers are a possibility, in 88a or possibly 84a too

yeah, the 88a no skoolz are good as well, the only thing with 88a wheels that ive noticed, is that they feel soft and all, but u cant carve really hard on them without slidin out, then again, if shes a beginner, she wont be carving that deep

The comet wheels are the best in the west. I just love them to death. The aquas are the best for all-around use. Smooth slides.

the Yellow ones are best for dedicated slide sessions, or if you are on smooth road.

I dont ride any other wheels except in skateparks.

Like the ABEC 11 No Schoolz, they are centerset so you can rotate them when they cone. I slide mine from 68mm to 60mm before replacing them. No problem with flatspotting.

No Skoolz are pretty sweet. I have them in 65mm 92a and they're very grippy while letting me break loose when needed.

Yeah, actually I've tried them all.

I ride the Comet Grey's and that is also a great soft wheel. I use them on my Comet Scramjet for slaloming tourists on the brick sidewalk on Market St, San Francisco. For the rough pavement here in the city, they are great if you really have some distance to cover on the flats. They dont last so long if you slide them, and do hard downhill carving on them.

I think the Aquas are the best ones for aggressive carving/downhill sliding and just general use. I like to go down the SF hills using a mix of hard carving and kickturning (need some grip), plus 180 slides & pendulum slides (need to slide predictably, and the wheels need to catch at some point). Aquas are the best I've tried for that kinda skating.

    Excellent info, thanks.

I just e-mailed Jonathan @ Comet about stocking them.

I'd go with some 77mm Strikers. They sound perfect for what you want.

Well...seeing as you want a predictable sliding wheel that would primarily be used for carving (I think) I would say the 81a Flashbacks. Yes they will cone but not THAT fast. Only if you use them for a slide only wheel. I have had mine for over a year with a lot of sliding and carving and the coning isnt that bad.

It's interesting how the durability goes way up between the 78's and 81's. Much moreso than the jump from 75 to 78.
