    Default sliding softer wheels?

recently ive gotten into sliding on my carving boards. so im wondering, will sliding wheels such as avalons, avilas and cambrias- wheels with the grippy lip thang- ranging from 74a to around 82a ( i think for grey cambrias?) actually damage the wheels? or will they be ok?
    cheers

Not unless you're willing to deal with the wheels wearing prematurely, etc.

i have krypto 65mm classic K's, dont know what duro but theyre soft, and its hard to slide em, you just gotta have a good amount of speed and really wrench it. they havent worn out more or less really, no chipped edges either

i think theyre about 78a, but its there shape that makes the difference, they dont have the grippy lip thang. good wheels though. what do you ride them on?

I think kryptos are like the most under rated sliding wheels ever
Theyre so easy to slide and so predictable yet they have a smooth ride.

easy to slide my ass, you gotta work it unless your really zippin, but when you do slide em its consistent and it comes right back when you want it to. i ride hills, parkin garages, drainage ditches, anything smooth and with a slope. i wont ride any surface that isnt 100 percent smooth or nearly so, as long as theres no cracks or holes that run the whole way across, theres no way im ridin anything subpar after i hit this rut and went flyin. its a little hard to tell how deep it is, but its about a good 2 inch crack.

you could just lathe away that grippy hanging thing, it would slide better, and wear less chunkful. it will chunk, just not as violently.

Wheels with lips will chunk definitely, and they will cone if you slide them a lot.

learing to slide on soft wheels gives you an advantage... once you know how to slide a wheels thats soft, you kinda have a better feel of the wheels, and you can control them better aswell.. yea

Are you talking about the translucent green (hawaii k) or opaque green (classic k)?

i hope he's talking about the classics because I have a set of the Hawaii K's and they are so0oo difficult to get to break loose. Once they are around though it's the best. Krypto's are super easy to control and maintain, and they snap right back once you wanna stand back up again. Lately though I've been having fun sliding on my Powell 80a's (don't know the model name. They are Trans Blue with the Powell wings graphics on them.) Now they are some fun wheels to slam. Grippy for hard carves but with a good wrench they'll pull pendulums like you wouldn't believe.
