Some of those European speedboarders would disagree...

after seeing pics of melted/exploded/hubless krypto's here, I don't think I'll be buying a set. esp. now with krypto's going oversees.

Man, I rode Kryptonics, exclusively, for years and they were the best thing going. This isn't true, anymore, but they're still decent wheels.
Ask "SilverSurfer" about why "race cores" aren't CALLED race cores, anymore. I think he's officially a Former Kryptonics rider.

Kryptos, arent bad wheels, they rebound very nice and handle weight well. I have other softer (and harder) wheels that feel like they "flatten out" when you pump them. Kryptos hold up in this case. But you will notice a night and day difference with Abec-11. Abec-11 wheels do what they are designed to do and you feel that right out of the box. Kryptos dont have that much thought designed into them.

THey are actually really good wheels for the price. But abec 11 wheels are higher quality and they will last longer.

when did that happen? i have 3 sets of kryptos, 65mm classic K's, route 65's, and 85mm something, and they rock, ive had the classic K's for 4 years, and theyre not 65mm anymore, but theyre in just as good condition as when i got em, same goes for the other wheels, which are about 2 years old. ive never ridden or even known anyone with abec 11's, and maybe they are really good, but theres a reason kryptonics have been around forever. theyre the only longboard wheels ive ever owned, except for a set of hard green wheels from the 70's i got at a skateshop in LBI called sidewalk surfer, check it out if you ever there, i got a 4 foot board already gripped for 50 bucks from there too.

Krypto's aren't bad wheels, they're just different. I think they're great for messing around on, they feel great drifting and can be a major addition to a racer's quiver. If you like to drift throughout your turn and have a nice arced curve then Kryptonics wheels are for you, if you prefer more of a gripped turn then Abec11 wheels are for you. I think Kryptonics are of lower quality and I wouldn't want to use them for super high speeds, lots of sliding, or long runs.

Kryptos are easier and more previsible when you come to fast in a sharp bend, it will allow to lose the appropriate speed while engaging the turn.
Also, on rough surface, they're more comfortable and less noisy!
But in a strait run, they are a touch slower...
I have krypto76 75a, 80mm 78 a and flywheels 83mm 78 and i change depending on the run i have in mind

That's the reason I love them so much!!
I've already ridden Exkate's, ABEC 11's, 3dm's, Moska's ( V12 ), etc
but on my most ridden boards I use Krypto's.

I like the 70mm Krypto in 78a. Definitely a smooth & grippy wheel, one of my favorites. Never tried a Flashback to compare, but if you want a 76mm wheel I defintely recommend the Gumballs.

i have gumballs in 78a and red kryptos in 78a and some old 29 wheels in 78a
to me it seems the kryptos are actually 82a+
they are much harder to the touch and ride harder and noisier than both the gumballs and the s9 wheels.
any one have any ideas on this, someone said above that they are over rated in duro but my case shows the opposite.
