    Default Pig Ceramic Bearings

I just got a complete on Ebay with pig ceramic bearings. A SF search shows nothing... a web search shows that they are cheapish ceramics ($40), what does that mean? They are supposedly only used like three weeks subjective (i.e. it sat in a garage for a long time).

Can I clean these? They don't have a outer C-ring like the Biltins. I also got a pair of Bones Swiss in the deal.

Posts seems to show people like those (I have yet to search about maintenance).

They're sealed with a rubber seal, easy to remove, keeps dirt out much better than a metallic shield. At $40, they might be solid ceramic balls. Good chance that they're just ceramic coated, however.

Ride them and give us a review. Very often price does not reflect performance, meaning that these could be awesome or they could be crap. My guess...They're not going to be the best bearings you've ever ridden, but that's just misguided prejudice

Ok, I have ridden them for like a single run. It was with the original setup I bought, a S9 Midnight Rider 44" Pintail, Seismics 180s 45y/30r, and Avila 76a wheels. With that setup I could pump really well... but *everything* I was riding was new so I need to do a more head to head comparison - but I think were aren't bad bearings... I want to clean them out first to give them a fair shake. (searching for how to remove the rubber shield now).

Update: I removed both rubber shield and washed in mineral spirits, then 91% alcohol, the blow dryed them and finally lubed them.

bearings are bearings and then there are rocking rons, it doesnt really matter what your rolling on, just that its something, so ride them and ride them, and then when they die ust get some rockets

I've got a set of those pigs ceramics om my cruising/carvingboard.
I don't have the time or the energy to review them now but all I can say is that i like them a lot!

keep them clean and they will serve you for ever.

ps. to remove the rubbershield just jus a tiny pin or a really thin knifeblade. bend the shield of the bearing by putting your pin/knife on the innerside of the shield. and POP! there you've got your shiny balls
