    Default longest lasting urethane

from the experience of other riders our there, what is the longest lasting urethane formula out there? for the sake of this question, lets say in the duro range of 78-84a.

as of late, I have been slowly coming to terms with how fat i am, and what all that weight does to my wheels as a result. but wheels are expensive!

i was under the impression that my red raceforms were really long lasting, but i took them down 2 runs on this local run where we'd have to slide like 6-8 times throughout the run and i shaved off a noticable amount of urethane.

83a Reflex. I have a set of BigZigs on my 9two5 that are taking an incredible amount of abuse.

I agree with what he said about the 83a reflex thane, but if your sliding I'd recommend the retro freerides in the reflex formula, they have a rounded lip so they'll break free a bit easier than big zigs

66mm 84a ladera boogers last for a good while. haven't tried the 82a but i hear they last almost as long.

im not using this wheel for sliding, im looking for more grip than slip
sliding to slow down, not just to slide

ive heard reflex thane is nigh indestructible, but from my experiences their slides are just too choppy and for my style of riding, that much grip just isn't necessary

Bearing spacers with the wheels cranked down and you'll be fine once the lips are ever so rounded.

Generally, the longer the thane last, the less awesome the slide is. A lot of what makes grippy wheels slidable is the fact that they leave thane all over the road. This is why 4prez slide, while zigzags chop. The Zigzag thane just doesn't want to come off.

Once lime zigs/bigs get worn down a little and the edges get rounded a bit, they slide like ICE and last a LONG time.

Bigzigs are choppy till you get them completely sideways, and then they slide smooth. Reflex freerides slide smoothly, they just girp way more than their duro should.
