Default Scooter wheels on a Longboard?

Has anyone ever tried this? Scooter wheels are really big and look like they would be fun on a longboard. I have seen them for real low cheap at Big 5 and other sports stores. I also have scooters in my garage i could take apart and try it.

    Has anyone done this?

I tried this 2 years ago on my skateboard... it was very fast and smooth but not very stable, and i doubt they would last very long. they also are not that stable... but its worth a try if you have the wheels..

Didn't someone try those down the rist a while ago? I remember something about that, apparently they started drifting and getting super sketchy even in a straight line.

ive done this it was on a 30inch(ish) board. real sketchy, gently leaned into a turn and the board slid straight away. it had absolutly no control.
i do assume were talking about the same wheels?

i did something like this ages ago.

i put inline skate wheels on a popsicle deck, it pumps to get speed pretty well but slips out really easy.

wouldn't the axles be too long for the scooter wheel to stay in one place?

yea. i wouldn't trust them at speeds higher than 5mph. i put them on a deck to see if i could go faster but they ended up being slow and slippery. For speed runs just stick with 85mm hawgs wheels.

I wonder if flattening the profile of the wheels would help much. Or using 8 wheels. Or...

Haha well as some other guys have said, k-rimes used them. I have some scooter/inline skate wheels that i have when i feel like dicking around on flatland, real light, soft feeling (78a) and slide like crazy, even on a 90 degree turn. but wear fast because of the teeny contact patch. Definitely fun while they last though.

Eh? Whenever I've tried this, the wheels gripped SUPER hard...I couldn't actually slide them due to the tiny contact patch (and the huge amount of pressure on the contact patch itself).

And yes, the rotational inertia of a wheel can stabilize a truck through the gyroscope effect.
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding
