That's weird. Mine are around 57-58mm, I've never flipped them, and they're barely coned.

Re: Metro Motion Wheel Review
Would you guys recommend the 78a ones or the 80a ones? Maybe some experiences with each? I'm a little bit nervous that the 78a might be a little bit grippier than what I am looking for, as I want a dedicated, icy freeride wheel similar to a Hesher Snowball.
PM me for a session in Rhode Island or SE Massachusetts, especially in Providence.

Go with the 80a then.

Re: Metro Motion Wheel Review
anyone have any issues with the wear pattern of these wheels? all of my wheels has a bit of ovalizing and one has hourglassing. normally on other wheels i could slide through a flatspot pretty easily. these motions hardly wear down, they have been used for about 20 hours and they are probably around 65mm.
they are 80a thane, the slide is great but yea they do ice out sometimes. they are getting more consistent as i wear them down though

Re: Metro Motion Wheel Review
Are they similar to race forms?

Re: Metro Motion Wheel Review
I'm having a really hard time picking in between a set of these and sector 9 RFs.. I know I'll be happy with either, but does anyone have preferences/contrasts in between the slide characteristics of these wheels? I really want something similar to my cult classics, but centerset.

Re: Metro Motion Wheel Review
I just put my 80a Metros on my Hypercarve. It's so much fun.
Bleach is mostly water, and we're mostly water... Therefore we are bleach.

I've logged quite a bit of time on Metros, and today I picked up a set of 82a CS 70mm Raceforms, and honestly, you can't go wrong either way. Metros have that sugary, grainy slide mentioned above, while as Raceforms are a bit more buttery sliding. Earthwing Slide B's are only a hair from being centerset, and they feel pretty comparable to Cults (pretty icy but still smooth). Slide B's feel like a mix of Cults and Abec 11 Freerides, IME.

Ugh, so many wheels to choose from. Since I started looking into the supermodel (which I got saturday night with my gf before she left to Australia), I've become a huge EW fanboy, and I feel like I'll probably end up with a set of Slide Bs down the road, but simply for the fact that I want centerset wheels more than anything right now, I'm gonna stick to the other two. I feel like I'm leaning more towards the MM at the moment, but who knows. Also, any recommendations for duros? I heard good about the 82a RFs, but nothing specific for the MMs.

Re: Metro Motion Wheel Review
I have the 80's and my little sister has the 78's. Personally I like the 78's a little more, they're a little quieter and smoother.

You should be fine. The only time I can remember slipping out on them was when I was bombing a bike path and hit a Hairpin at bout 20 ish. Aside from that, they have never slipped out on me.
