I use my Gumballs for DH, and I think they are a tad large and heavy for anything else

Chris Chaput uses them for GS.

As for Grippins, I have used mine for Slalom and for Cruising, and have not been disappointed with them at all.

I find that for most Wisconsin roads 81a is the golden Abec 11 duro.

At least for gumballs, grippins, flashbacks, strikers (77mm for DH), and NoSkoolz (65mm for cruising).

Flywheels I prefer 78a and strikers for sliding I have in 88a.

Well, give us some more info, just to be sure. Board? Trucks? Style?

Probably randal rII 150's . looking to do some tight carves and a little cruisin around and pumpin, not lookin to bomb hills. i want something big and soft and grippy to give a nice smooth ride. u think grippins are good for that?

errrr..... i think hotspots and avilas would be more in the territory hes thinkin about... but trimmed avilas would make more sense to take the shape of a gumball better and add speed and decrease chunking in a drift

Yes but they are also heavy, coming in at a whopping 1/2 pound each.

I say go for the green, and if you are getting a mini board, with 150 trucks, the center set grippins should be nice. I run them on my slalom board with spaced indy 109's and they rock.

Gumballs are tall, and a tad wide for the type of riding you described.

    Give us more info:
The type of roads that are around you ( smooth, medium, rough)
Flat lands , Hills, or Both

and just anything else you can give us, we can help you a bit more.

    Default oh

ooh yeah, i'm most likely gonna be riding rough roads, to brick, to sidewalks, which is why i want something pretty big and soft to take the impact. i also want to do a bit of carving. not huge carving, but just tight little carves down small hills. i also want to do some pumping. thats about it.

I think the Grippins would suit you well for that.

    Good choice.

If you want a super comfy ride get 78a or 75a.

If you want a bit more speed try the 81a like Bilzo said.

Big Gumballs and Avilas are too big and heavy for a mini,
but are good on true longboards, some slalom rigs, ect.

Bilzo are those Wisconsin roads mostly smooth, rough or average?

Smooth Asphalt, with some cracks depending on where you skate. My old stomping grounds (the cemetary) was fresh paved, Lapham Peak is old but smooth with cracks, and a new spot I have scoped out it is fresh paved (and right next to a hospital, fancy that...
