    Default S9 Slalom Wheels

Anybody own these yet? They look like they've got a squared off lip like a Manx 69. I'd like to see some more pics if you've got 'em.

Yeah, I was curious about them too. They appear to have the same lip as a Manx and a similar profile and such to them. If they go along with the Goddess of Speed wheels in terms of quality and ride performance, there could be a new cheap slalom wheel line that performs well too...

our crew has a set. the profile is more like an avalon. uber flexy outer lip. they do grip like crazy, but theyre slow as hell. the stated duro feels waaay softer by touch.

The new S9 wheels are poured in the same place and with the same basic urethane as 3dm and abec 11 wheels.

My new S9's (not the ones in the pic) are fast and grippy.
I got 75a and they feel right on.

If yours feel too soft or slow try a harder duro and maybe faster bearings or something. Might not be as fast as hot spots or grippins, but might be in the right duro. We'll have to try them and see.

They may have the same manufacturer but it doesn't mean they all have the same urethane formulas, right?

    correct.

ss, the wheels are slow because there isnt verymuch thane supporting the outer lip. more deformation on the outer spreads out the contact patch much more than 3dms. the s9s your talking about has a hub, putting more support closer to the outer lip spreading pressure more evenly (is that a real word?).

Those blue ones are so freaking soft. I squeezed one at my local skate shop. It feels seriously, like about 64a.

It's the thin lip if you mean the 72mm ones. Near the hub they are harder. Very gripppy and faster than gumballs or flashbacks in the same duro under the conditions I skate. A slalom or dh racer might better off
with abec 11 (which I have) or hot spots (which I want).

The GOS wheels are fast and drift well even in 75a, 76mm.

I can't be alone in thinking that the translucent colours look amazing. I totally want some.

You are thinking of a different wheel. These are 69mm and don't have a large hub. The other wheels are 72mm and have a large triangular spoked hub.

They look like sick carving wheels. Can you go too soft for carving?

indeed you can go too soft for carving... i have the early versions of the 72mm 75a nineball, but its 65a, and i wouldnt be surpised if the duro was even softer... they were super grippy at first... but then got weird and seemed to dry out, then they lost a ton of grip and started chunking and coning and gettin all weird

Captain- Here are some pics of these wheels for ya, the board in the backround should look real familiar...... These are really soft wheel, i don't have any Manx's but I would say the lip on the Sector 9's is more "sharp" and pronounced, really soft and flexy.... Thay are grippy and slow in 75 like I have, they are the same size, width and backspacing as the Hot Spots in the picture, I have not ridden the Hot Spots yet... There is one pic of squeezing the lip, might show how soft they are.....

Can I get a pic of the inner lip?

The wheel kinda looks like an avalon w/o the aggressive outer lip.

Could those strange problems ie dryting out and getting all weird be because they are early versions?

I want a set of these.

I dont know which ones he has, but the earlier versions were much lower quality and not nearly as nice as far as I can tell.
