    Default New park/pool wheels needed

I need some new park/pool wheels. Last weekend I went to an indoor park for the fisrt time in years and just couldn't get enough speed with my 78a's.

I do know they are way to soft so I need some new ones.

They'll be used in wood indoor and concrete outdoor parks and pools. And they'll be mouthed to my Jeff Kendall and my blockhead with indy's. And they'll prob be mouted with Biltins

    Otions:
    -Retro Vertz
    -polka dots
    -66m 88a strikers

VertZ are side-set, whereas Polka Dots are center-set. The former require slightly narrower trucks to "fit" your board.

So the verts may stick out of my Blockhead? That would suck pretty much

It depends on the width of the trucks, really. How wide is the board? If you tell me which size trucks you have, I can measure the various combo's.

Are those your only options? Because I say none of the above.

Good recommendations. Bones has a (S)PF version of the Bomber III now that's killer. Only poured in 60mm, though.

Pretty much the onely affordable options here. 99.9% of skatestores don't have big enough wheels for me.

Trucks are indy 150's and deck is about 9 inc wide

    Santra Cruz is much wider.

I'm not really a beginner. But I restarded after a few years of not skating. I now skate the bigger boards instead of popsicles. And unfortunately big hard wheels are hard to come by here. And I want a wheel that I can use hard both indoor and outdoor

They're good wheels, but feel very "dead," IME. Not enough urethane depth. Also, they're side-set, and require 8mm spacers.

I thought the polka's might be a good choice. I totally love my Powerballs too.

I have maybe a good suggestion: Tunnel Rocks.

They're being re-released in very nearly the original shape, using a .400 bearing seat and in Park-formula 91 and 95a. They're flatbacks, and I think too hard for my kind of street-riding, but maybe exactly the ticket for Biltin'ed park wheels.

The have raised lettering, exactly like an old school wheel, too. Makes 'em faster 8)

I'm looking for a wide, hard longboard-type wheel to ride in parks to keep the speed up but I don't want to sacrifice the grip I'm used to. I figure the type of wheels I slide on, with a very narrow profile won't be what I'm looking for. Since the Tracker 149s match up so nicely with my deck, I plan on trying out the Pink Polka Dots.

The Polka Dots have a 27mm contact patch, with overall width of 45mm. They're dual-radiused.

Bertz are a 35mm contact patch, 35mm width.

76mm Flywheels are 44mm contact, 52 wide, hardest at 81a.

Grippins have a whopping 50.5mm contact, 52mm width and come up to 92a! I didn't realize that until a second ago. I bet the 92a Grippin rides a little different than the 75's eh?

    The VertZ are very grippy.

I may get some Rocks to try out. I know someone on them, and he flatspotted his on a twig or pebble (can't remember which it was). I'd like to see how they hold up, and how that outer slip performs on carves.
