About 8 hours of ride time will make a noticeable difference. Remember that the Bones (black) are designed for vert and street, and are geared for max acceleration.

How are bearings made specifically for vert or street vs one just for pure speed? I mean you got bearing balls, inner race and outer race that make up the core of the bearing.

Ron Foster (aka, RocknRon) won't tell me his trade secrets, but he designed the Rockets for max acceleration, which is desirable for very skating. He's a bearing supplier/contractor to NASA, so he knows his stuff.

I'll take his word for it if he says they're fast.

if you want to break in your bearings faster, get a micropolishing paste for metal and put a tiny amount in the bearing with some light sewing machine/3n1 oil. ride down a short hill at lower speeds a few times. clean bearings extremley well with solvent and then rinse with Acetone and relube with your favorite lube.

    is this verifiable?

    how so??

are you asking if there are any engineering reports on this, i dont know....I use this method and have done so for a long time. IMHO it does'nt damage the bearings, the polishing paste is far too fine (microcrystalinne) to do anything other than polish the races and balls to a high micron smooth finish. The dust that gets in the bearings is 1000x of times larger than the polishing powder.
