Metro Motion vs Abec 11 Freerides

Hey guys im buying a bc moray (a good slide board) but need to decide between some wheels. I weigh 180 lb and cant decide between the metro motion 80a and the abec 11 84a freerides. I mostly do stand up slides and I heard the metro motion is good for that but i feel like it wont slide well because I weigh to much. So I was wondering you guys opinion for a stand up slide oriented 180 person. Thanks!!

I'd suggest metro motion but It's up to you. I can only say what I think of it but that's not what you might find. I'd go for metro motion because the are more buttery to me. The freerides come in relfex and clasic thane, If you'd choos the freeride then go for the classic, because they are pretty icey. The abec's hold up pretty good but so do the metro motions, so for durability they are in my opinion equal. But that's my thought of the matter, I'd suggest buying one and when they are used to there limits by the others and then compare or buy them at the same time and enjoy both and decide for your next wheel on that. But yeah it's my opinion and maybe not that of others so ask around

In my opinion, just go with the freerides. I have both, and I'd take freerides any day hands down. metro motion thane is really icy to me, and the slide glides fast, but it feels like rocks on the pavement, not a buttery feeling at all. And as to durability, ive flatspotted my metros in multiple places, but abec 11 thane usually takes a lot longer for me to flatspot

you shouldn't worry about your weight. I would go with Metros. They are some of the iciest wheels on the market. plus if they start to cone, you can flip the wheels to fix it. This goes with any wheel, be careful of flatspotting them, you'll just core them quicker.

I don't like the catch on Metros. Their catch is not as smooth as the Freerides.
If you get Freerides, 78a or 81a is what most folks prefer.
I like Freerides, but you should check out RainSkates Mega Tsunamis. They're available in 85a or 82a. I have the 82a and I really like them. They are very smooth and predictable.

I think you should go with metro motion. very predictable wheel. thane is similar to otang thane in my opinion.

I love my metros, they don't take ANYTHING to push out into a slide (good or bad thing depending on what you like). They have a super nice smooth slide but its far from buttery, theyre somewhere in between chalky and icey, and personally i love it hoped that helped

i like classic thane and haven't had much experience with metro motions but if you go for the freerides defiantly get them in 81a or even 78a if your going abit quicker.
