if theyre clogged with dirt or overtighgtend without spacers, it could be your bearings. also check that none of them are seized up. you can get some reds or minilogos if you think you need new bearings. if its not the bearings, then its probably your tuck

Tuck, wheel hardness/size, and then maybe bearings.

    yeah, what he said

you'd be surprised how much of a difference a good tuck makes.

    ....and it's bearings......not barrings

Its always the tuck *exaggerating*, I got into a flame war about this crap, it could be the wheels/bearings/tuck or anything else you can possibly think of.

If you can spin your wheels and they keep spinning for any amount of time (and are not absolutely filled with rust, sand, or silly putty) then I doubt its your bearings.

    Which wheels do you have?

The diameter might matter more than you think. My 83a 76mm bigzigs get up to markedly higher speed on one particular hill than my 83a/86a 70mm zigs. (I have only a pair of each duro in the 70mm)

Urethane composition (hardness/rebound) can make a huge difference as well and softer wheels will generally roll slower than harder wheels given a decent surface.

On rebound... I have a set of 70mm split 80a/83a Grippins that are a lot slower than my 70mm split 83a/86a zigzags. Same diameter, close in hardness, but miles apart halfway down the hill.

The slowest wheels I've ever had were 69mm 72a Sector 9 slalom wheels. They might as well have been made out of bubble gum. I learned to pump on those things and didn't realize til later that they were sucking up a ton of energy! The next wheels I got were the 76mm 83a bigzigs and in comparison the bigzigs felt like they were made of flubber, propelling me on their own! Makes sense considering they are bigger, harder, and have better rebound.

So, what kind of wheels do you have? And which wheels does your friend have?
