    Default Bearing size

I have two bearings that say 608z and 609z. I think the ones for skateboards are 606, correct my if I'm wrong. I tried fitting one of these in my wheels and then tried my truck, and seemed to fit snug like anyother bearing.

I lost a bearing when I forgot to full tighten the wheels back when I swiched out bearings, and when someone went to use it a wheel flew off. It's a good thing he was just stood on it when it happend.

I took these spear bearings from router bits...

Would anyone know if I should use them or put them back? I've never heard anything about someone doing this, and even searched the forum but no luck.

Well if so that works out pretty well...

Although I'm still woundering if it woulden't hurt if they were 609... or 607, something close.

I tried putting them both on the axle and move it around. They seemed to be the same size if you didn't know better.

608 is standard size, 8x22x7 (IDxODxW)
609 is 9x24x7... so it's a mm or two off in a few ways.

incidentally, 628 is 8x24x8.. probably would make a pretty good solution for wheels that the bearing doesnt fit in snugly diameter wise. they've just got a little extra width, speedrings would be a tight fit on some trucks.

Also remember, the main important things are bearing diameter, which is 22mm in all 608, and the bore size which is 8mm. If he dia. is too big, it wont fit into the wheel, if the bore is too small, it wont fit onto the axle.

Yeah, I noticed it wasn't a 9 but an 8, sorry wasn't to great of a state of mind at the time. Although It was still insightful, thank you.

I have some bearings from a board I got for free and it's a cheap board. I was messing around and pulled the bearing out and it had integrated spacers, the disapointment though is that they are sealed, and looks like the bearings spin freely without being held in place. Should I just yank those out? lol
