    Default Bearings on the cheap

So, I'm in the market for a relatively inexpensive set of bearings to replace a dying set of Halos on my cruiser / carver. I've heard good things about both Mini-Logos and Pleasure Tool bearings, both of which certainly fit my price range. Any opinions as to which is better? Also, if I do go with the Pleasure Tools, is it worth the extra few dollars for the ABEC 7s vs the 5s?
    Thanks

Abec ratings are useless for skateboard bearings.

Check out vbxbearings on ebay if you want decent cheap bearings.

I've used VBX, Biltins, Minilogo, and Reds.

I've got 3 setups running minilogos at the moment, they're my "go-to" all around bearing. The differences between the reds and minilogos are negligible. I like minilogos because they have a rubber seal on one side, and a shield on the other. The seal is easy to take off, and great keeping out grime.

The reds are good but are open on one side, thus tend to get dirtier faster.

I didn't like the VBX as much, it is probably *mostly* psychological (I'm convinced that for most applications bearings are pretty much the same, speed wise), but they are double-shielded with metal shields which are harder to remove for cleaning, IMO, and not as good as rubber at keeping out the gunk.

Biltins are easy to clean, eliminate the need for spacers/speed washers, and make changing wheels a snap. Get them if you can find them/don't mind spending $25. Most places are out of stock because they're improving the design and have temporarily ceased production until the new model comes out.

I have VXBs and I am happy with them. Mini Logos are good budget option too.

Pleasure tools abec 3. Get em' from edsbearings.com 4.50 a set. Just buy a bunch and you'll be set. I have them on a board that I dropped in a ditch full of water. It was totally submerged for a while, and the next day there wasn't any difference in the ride. Great bearings, especially if you never ever clean them, like me.

I've used both and they seem to be about the same.. i'd just go with the abec 5's if you want to save a little money
