Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
78a Gumballs, 80a 70mm Zigzags, or even possibly 80a Bigzigs?

i have a flex 2 with 78a gumballs, and it rides beautifully, but i've also heard great things about the s9 gos wheels.

Really? Thats good, because the GOS wheels are way cheaper on Ebay than any of those Abec 11 wheels.

I see you ride a longboard, I happen to longboard myself.

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
My favorite wheels on my Van thus far are 78a GOS. The 77mm Langhawgs are good too,
but not 'better'. The GOS outperform more expensive wheels in my opinion--and part of that
is by being at least as good for less money. Very pleased with them.
However: the 80-83 ZigZags and the 78a Landhawgs do pump a bit better than GOS.
The question is, do they pump about $6 better?
Hard to say...that will be very rider dependent--for me it changes from day to day too.
Sorry if this wasn't as helpful as would be liked...
My recommendation is GOS. Might not be perfect--but it will be very good.

I am a little skepticle toward Sector 9 wheels though. I have a pair of 62mm 78a nineballs and I can slide those out really easy.
I know I didn't state this before and I apologize but I am aiming for Grip, and Pumpability, and possibly light weight (becuase I have a pair of 83mm Flywheels and they way a ton). And of course a lower price is always nice too.

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
I bought a Basic vanguard complete from mark. it came with the 75a GOS wheels. At first I was dissapointed because I thought it came with the 78a ones. However, I love them! Super fun, very smooth and grippy. Also, I was suprised how easily I could slide them too. I can easily pull 180 slides no problem. I have at least four other friends with vanguards and have tried them with lots of other wheels, Kryptos, strikers, gumballs (so many people have gummies on it!). I like my 75a GOS better than any other wheels i've tried on it. When it's time to replace them that's what I am putting back on, even though I have numerous sets of abec11's sitting around. Get them, you won't be sorry....If you don't like them I'll buy them, lol.

So, what ABEC 11's do you have laying around? Willing to sell any?

Ok, for grip and pumping--get some Lime ZigZags. I use Lemon but I find them a little hard for general cruising.
BigZigs are probably a good option too if you prefer larger wheels (I do). But I haven't tried them so I can't confirm.

lol, had some 78a 77mm strikers I just sold. have some lemon zigs that I may sell soon. Have some fly's on my Evo, but they're staying put. I also have some gummies going on my next board. Don't get me wrong, abec11 wheels are great, but I feel sometimes some people just buy for the name and aren't willing to try out other things. The GOS are great wheels, I just get frustrated when people say that things suck unless they're this brand or that. That being said, S9 doesn't need my buisness, and i'd rather support smaller more active companies. But being a college student makes the extra $13 per set of wheels between GOS and gummies attractive. hell, they're made in the same place, both wheels are great. Do what you want but saying you won't get them because they're S9 is stupid IMO.

1) S9 doesn't make the wheels. They're made by the same company that makes ABEC11 and lots of other popular wheels.
2) if you're going for grip and don't want to slide at all maybe get some 75a, I can't tell a difference in speed, but the 75a are a lot more grippy. Check out the grippins, as the name suggest they have a huge contact patch and grip very well. also check out the 77mm hawgs or good old tried and true gumballs.

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
Well, I'm pretty sure I am going with the GOS's. They are the cheapest and dont seam to be any worse in any one else's opinion. And I was just wondering if you had any wheels to sell lower than $30 (because then that would be cheaper than the GOS's). Well thanks for your help everybody! If you still feel you need to speak more, go for it.

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
Because it's sooo fun to do hard carves and pump on a vanguard I would highly suggest the 80a regular Zigzags. The bigzigs won't grip as well and they will make it ride a little higher.

Are you sure they would grip more? I think the contact patch is wider on on the Bigzigs. And do you think ZZ's are better than Gummies?

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
I used to run 75a gumballs on my flex 2 oak vanguard, but recently switched to 78a 69mm manx... they are amazing. Having the ride height a little lower on the vanguard makes all the difference. The manx also grip extremely well and are great fun to pump and hard carve around on.

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
Well, thank you all. And if anyone cares, I went with the 80a Bigzigs.

Re: Wheels for Flex 2 Vanguard?
let us know how it works, out i'm considering a vanguard with those.
