Re: Show me... abused wheels!
Here's my abused wheels. I'm kinda new, so my only thrashed wheels are from sliding. These wheels lasted me only 2 sessions. I took a total of 5 runs (about 1 mile each), 3 runs a week ago, and 2 runs yesterday. These EW Superballs 58mm, 58d were absolutely brand new before these 5 runs. When I got a flat spot on my old set of wheels 62mm Superballs, I chalked it up to inexperience. But now that I'm getting alittle better, I see its my weight and style that are tearing up my wheels. Now its time to place an online order for new slide wheels.

Are you using spacers? What about wheelbite?

damn dude
you can't keep your wheels perpendicular to the fall line for very long or you'll get those nasty flatspots. always gotta keep em rotating
looks like you're doing really long, drawn-out slides to a complete stop.....

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
Because the forces applied on the wheels differ during slides, for me the front right wheel wears the most.

Re: Show me... abused wheels!
Deleted; spacers YES, wheel bite No (I run tight trucks).
jmasta; your right, really long layback slides, but during the last 2 sessions, I've been able to connect most of my slides. After initiating my layback slide and putting my lead hand down just behind me, the board slides 180 to a switch position. After continueing with speed in the switch position, I lift my arm and place the opposite hand down. This rotation of my shoulders slides the board back underneath me in its normal direction.I stand up, gain optimum speed and repeat the process. I probably reach top speed of about 30mph and connect about 6-8 slides in a 1/2 mile distance. The road has minor curves and is very steep (IMO). I also weigh 220 lbs. and have very bad knees (I can't toe slide because of the strain it puts on my knee's). I'm having a lot of fun, and know by summer, I will have this hill down!

You know, it's interesting that you mention this, because I've had quite a different (maybe unique?) experience with my Slide A's.
I don't do a lot of hands-down anymore, just mostly standups. I really like holding out fs/bs powerslides as long as I can, which you would think would be great for flatspotting wheels. Yet somehow, after months of this kind of riding (plus a whole day of Slidefest basically dedicated to it), those Slide A's just never seem to want to flatspot.
The weird thing is that colemans actually tend to get me a flat quicker than any other trick -- even laybacks. Granted, most of this wear happened when I was running a set of Sergios, but I dunno... maybe I just suck at colemans haha.
