Thats awesome I really need to try some flashbacks. Would 81a Flashbacks feel the same as 81a mini flys or should I go with 84a because of the mini flys 'thane depth.

76mm Flywheels, I tried 81a Grippins and they didnt seem as drifty as the Flys.

Since the core is fully exposed on all of the wheels, these things are truly dreadful to ride, they feel way harder than any other wheel i've ridden and they sound and feel like a flat spotted wheel.

81a grippins grip more, slide smoother, and are more predictable than 81a flywheels. compared to 81a flashbacks, 81a grippins grip more and slide well, but not as flawlessly as flashbacks. i ride both 81a flashbacks and grippins topmounted, my advice is to pick up a set of 81a flashbacks, and ride the life out of them.

Awwwww, they're so young!!! So much life left... Are those Slide A's? Their performance definitely changes over time, but let me tell you -- they get incredibly slick when they're below 50mm. Maybe give 'em a second chance?

Hell yeah. I prefer the slide a's when they are thrashed. I almost consider turning my new slide a's down to the low fifties every time. Then I just slide the sh!t outta them.

Kyle, they were 58mm slide a's. First set I had of that size/shape. The edges are getting....crumbly....and the hook up is kind of like jogging on ice. They did wear ridiculously even though. I'm sure they will get recycled onto some set up on a bored day. =D

HOw do you like the 58s compared to the 62s? I am paranoid and stockpiled a bunch of 62s...so I haven't had the need to buy any.

Well, I bought a second pair, so I guess I like them? Haha...

I hate riser pads, so I dug that I could run them on a deck with wheel wells with out any from day 1. I also liked the smaller contact patch they start with as well as the more modern shape. Plus being shaped like a more modern wheel, as you slide them down that small contact patch gets wider, so even though they are breaking in, they hook up better than when they were new. Also they wore very even.

I didn't like the fact that the edges didn't stay sharp as they got toward the core. They got a bit slippery...fun for standies, but a little slippery on the hook up. I hate doing the banana peel dance after a fast standy when the hook up doesn't well...hook up.

That's interesting. The old 62's stay pretty predictable throughout their lifetime, but what you're describing reminds me of the one time I tried out Sergio sliders. Those things slip so easily it's almost hard to hold any kind of carve. Maybe the 58mm behave similarly due to the smaller, embedded core (whereas the 62s have a larger, visible core). Definitely prefer the feel of the 62mm Slide A's.

I haven't heard any reviews of the small 48mm/58D wheels. Anybody tried them out? The contact patch is ridiculously small.
